Berkeley's T-Rex in one of the science buildings--part of the collection of the small paleontology museum. He greets all visitors to the science library. I’m standing in the library looking out through a big window into the atrium.
Remember reading about the very small arms this dinosaur had? Scientists have no explanation, as of yet.
Presently on display at the UC Botanical Garden. Large needles on this globular specimen!
Family: Cactaceae. This plant entered the collection in 1990, and has been growing here for over 30 years!

An atypical view of the Humanities Gateway at UC Irvine. It looks a bit like some weird kind of aperture to me.
Built in 1914, architect John Galen Howard. 307 feet (97m) tall, it houses a 61 bell carillon. It has 7 floors with an 8th floor observation deck.
It's been a while since I committed the sin of a midday landscape. it's just the way it worked out today. At least the arboretum is beautiful in any light. :)
I went out for coffee this afternoon and found two of my coworkers looking at something but I couldn't see what. I went over to them and found out that one of carries almonds with her feed the squirrels on campus. Feeding the squirrels is her moment of zen in the middle of her busy schedule. This guy was today's recipient of her generosity. I think he was glad to have run into her today! #Squirrel
Someone told me a conjunction was happening this evening. So I went out to UCSB to view it. Also, the surface of Storke Tower is looking pretty sad these days!

These scans come from my rather large magazine collection. Instead of filling my house with old moldy magazines, I scanned them (in most cases, photographed them) and filled a storage area with moldy magazines. Now they reside on an external harddrive. I thought others might appreciate these tidbits of forgotten history.
