The shuttered farm-to-table restaurant In Bloom will soon be replaced by an Asian eatery in Federal Hill.
Husband-and-wife team Pornchai Rungrojcharoenkit and Nattawan Khumjarurat plan to open a new restaurant in the space at 1444 Light St. in the next two or three months. The couple, which also owns Lazy Fish Sushi in Frederick and Sumittra Thai Cuisine in Charles Town, West Virginia, have not yet decided upon a name for the eatery, Rungrojcharoenkit said.

Taking Seattle by storm, indie-electronic producer Ark Patrol returns with passion on his self-titled debut LP. During a 2018 battle with cancer, the well respected producer began assembling his first ever album. Inspired by the stark contrast between agony and recovery, Ark Patrol is less about the technical dedication to a craft, and more so about the innate need to manifest experience. The album is an expansive work of art- a wholly fleshed out concept album about healing. Despite its grim roots, there is a tangible charm that radiates with each transition. Ark Patrol was crafted with an acute attention to movement, as it follows a pattern that mimics the ebb and flow of life while avoiding on the nose cliches. There are moments of disco via tracks like “Darling, You Can’t Walk Away” and moments of atmospheric reflection with “Entropy,” allowing the album to cater to niche sub-genres in EDM while remaining distinguished and unified. 2019 is already a monumental follow up to the former year for the Seattle producer. Wrapping up a string of shows with Kiwi-producer BAYNK, this LP is the catalyst for a new era for Ark Patrol.
“This album is meant to be an honest offering of ideas that represent my tastes – presented for the first time with zero thought or consideration as to the audience. It was written this past year in Seattle. I wrote it not because I wanted anything from it, I wrote because I needed to write it. It’s been six years since the last Feed Me album, Calamari Tuesday. In the time since, Jon Gooch has released a number of Feed Me EPs and even a Spor album, but High Street Creeps marks his official sophomore album under the Feed Me name.
A lot has changed, obviously, since 2013 — both in worldly terms and more specifically as Feed Me. With six years and four Feed Me EPs between albums, Gooch’s musical style has evolved and matured even more than it had before.
Compared to Calamari Tuesday, High Street Creeps is a lot less in-your-face electro house and intense sounds and synths. Instead, it weaves back and forth between more high-energy tracks like “Sleepless” and “Barrel Roll” and other more poppy tracks like “Feel Love” and “Pumpkin Eyes.”
There’s no doubt that a lot of Feed Me fans will feel this album is a far cry from the Feed Me they were introduced to in 2011 with Feed Me’s Big Adventure — and they’re right. It is a lot different. But there has been a natural progression over the past 8 years and it really does make a fair bit of sense stylistically, especially when you take this quote from Feed Me into account.
“With the second album it was written all across the world, across a big expanse of time. Getting the mindset to distill it into something congruous meant a lot of thought,” says FEED ME. “I flew to LA with my whole setup for a while and drove around setting up and working with different vocalists and artists which was the antithesis of how I had always worked; some of it was written there, some in my studio, and some away from the box as it were. I’ve started to love making music or sketching ideas away from a screen and I wanted that reflected in there, too. It spans multiple years and a big change, even building my own studio, and a big learning experience.”
With 10 tracks and nearly an hour of listen time, you’ll want to set aside a part of your day to really delve into this one and enjoy it to its fullest effect. Listen to Feed Me’s new album High Street Creeps below.

Freedom from his sanskaari censorial duties seems to have set off a new wave of creative freedom for Pahlaj Nihalani. After playing presenter to the erotic Julie 2, Pahlaj Nihalani will now produce a film on the demolition of the Babri Masjid, a political crisis that hit India in 1992 and resulted in widespread riots all across the country.
The film entitled Kabir Ka Ayodhya will feature newcomers. Explaining his decision to go fiercely political with his cinema Nihalani says, “I am being told that there is a fear that my film would not be in keeping with the Bharatiya Janta Party’s ideology. But I want people to stop worrying. Please wait to see what line of politics Kabir Ka Ayodhya will adopt. I can assure you it would be hard-hitting. I am not afraid of the truth, no matter how bitter.”
Nihalani says he will deliberately cast newcomers in his film. “If I want I can ask Sunny Deol, Akshay Kumar and Govinda to star in Kabir Ka Ayodhya. They will never say no to me. But I don’t want established stars. Our industry desperately needs new talent. A handful of stars are controlling the budgets of films. We need to break that stronghold before it’s too late.”
The producer says he has always believed in new talent. “I’ve introduced Govinda, Chunky Pandey, Neelam and so many others, Divya Bharati was a newcomer when I signed her for Shola Aur Shabnam and Kangana Ranaut was first signed by me although that film never got made. I believe in fresh talent. It’s the future of the entertainment business.”
Isn’t he afraid of censor trouble over a film that recreates the Babri Masjid crisis?
“Not at all. I know the guidelines and I won’t make any film that disregards those guidelines. The facts about the Babri demolition are in the public domain. No point in ignoring the obvious.”

When the fabric of memory is fragile, what is it then that holds it all together? We have never been there, tells us our memory. We have been there, tells us the photograph. We were never that happy again after this day. What about these two people, slowly vanishing from the picture, faster vanishing from your life, where they stepped in only for a minor stint. The importance of a picture lies not what we see in the picture but in the way we connect what we see to what we assume to be outside of the picture. The vanishing point of a story. Lives dropping behind the paper of a photo, disappearing between the pixels on the screen. They are not together anymore, they just stopped calling after a while. It was a fling in a summer that did not seem to end. Later, with other people, they might look back on this day and regret that they drifted apart. They married and today have two kids. He’s cheating on her. He hates his life. The way their lives unrolls out of this image into endless directions: This Faustian-Pause-Key, the “Verweile doch…” an image represents, that lure of the lives that may go into different directions, lives passing through the plane of the image. Time collapsing and enclosing within its debris all possibilities.

Have you been on a beach holiday recently? One of the best parts of beach holidays in my childhood was walking along the shores, gathering cute sea shells and then washing off the sand. “We are safe in Patiala” – Alia Bhatt
Alia Bhatt and the crew of Meghna Gulzar’ Raazi are in Patialia shooting a portion of the film. However this weekend all hell broke loose in many parts of Delhi and Punjab including Punjab after the rape conviction of a self-styled godman.
The shooting had to be cancelled for the safety of the crew. When I got in touch with Alia Bhatt in Patiala, she replied, “We are all safe here. The shooting got postponed by a few days because there is a curfew here. There is no stress.”
Another source from Raazi crew in Patiala says, “Frankly the situation down here is quite volatile. We’re all staying within the hotel until the crisis is diffused. Everyone is worried. Gulzar Saab has been inquiring anxiously not just for his daughter (director Meghna Gulzar) but the entire unit.”
After the Patiala portion is done, the Raazi crew would be flying to Kashmir where a major part of the film is to be shot. “That won’t be easy shooting either. I guess we are looking at some challenging locations for our film. Alia Bhatt is up to every challenge. Her concentration and focus have to be seen to be believed,” says a prominent crew member.

Sometimes people think that drag racers fall out of the sky. People with piles of money that just magically appear with a car to compete in. Those people are morons. Everyone who has ever done a damn thing in this sport has gotten their spot with blood, sweat, and tears. This video, which serves to highlight an IHRA Factory Modified showdown in Dallas, really lays out the class perfectly. For lack of a better term this was a no-holds barred version of pro stock with tiny small block engines. As you will see in this video, there was loads of talent populating this class and some of that talent is still racing today. Current pro mod racer Rick Hord is profiled and Tim Freeman of the KB Racing pro stock team is showed as a talented teenager.
The IHRA’s Bret Kepner and drag racing legend Jon Lundberg bring the action from this awesome event and the sound in itself is a show. The cars leave the starting line at more than 10,000 RPM and the majority of them did it off of a clutch pedal and yanked their own gears heading down course.
This is a killer video featuring cars with single four barrel small blocks that were turning low 8s in the 1980s. We’d go into the controversy that this class caused the NHRA but it ain’t really worth it because when Billy Meyer sold the IHRA it was not long for the world in the state we see it here. This is a fantastic video.
