Recent Michigan grad here. I quit my first office after a few weeks because the doctor was just too overbearing. I recently told an office I would cover maternity leave part time, but the doctor pays me considerably low for 1099. Never gave the opportunity to talk about pay and Dr wasn’t willing to be open to talk about it. She is always running behind making hygiene patients wait on exams to the point where I am 15 minutes behind schedule. The doctor is also a bit of a snob as she was a hygienist previously. If I leave the tiniest piece of plaque she will make it known to me. And majority of the time it’s prophy paste. I do my best to give a patient a good rinse. Today she pulled the smallest black speckle of pepper. And aggressively placed it on the tray where the gauze was for me to see it. I might have 2 potential offers from different offices and one I really enjoyed that I temped previously and also offer benefits to employees. Does it look horrible that I am quitting offices fast? Am I just a horrible hygienist? I always feel like I’m being belittled by the doctor that I wish she would fire me. When I temped at the other office I loved it and didn’t feel any negative vibes. But I really initially took this job to cover because I wanted something consistent that wasn’t temping. The Michigan market is really good right now, but taking the job was out of consistency and a very short commute.

He briefly touched fame when he wrote Moanin’ while playing with Art Blakey. He was one of the people that almost got famous, but never quite made it due to a lack of effort or stamina or desire. His liver gave way after he had treated her poorly with drugs and alcohol.
These non-famous people and their disdain for fame at all. Why bother? And still, there was this nagging feeling of having underachieved, of being cheated out of the fame you deserve: By bad luck, by bad timing, by a lack of devotion – when the real reason has only been a lack of conviction in the idea of achieving something.

Man, it’s really bad.
The logo NAR announced.
How could this happen?
As someone who runs a company that does brand and logo work every day, let me tell you how it may have unfolded:
NAR decides it needs a new logo because this is something they can actually make happen.
NAR feels nervous about this, so hires a fancy London-based agency in order to feel less nervous.
Fancy agency assigns B-team to real estate client.
Agency digs into NAR’s world and quickly realizes they have entered onto a different cosmic plane. They do research and discovery to find their bearings, but remain lost.
Agency presents concepts to a large committee that gives them scattered, subjective and contradictory feedback. This is agency’s fault as much as it is NAR’s fault.
Agency not feeling it.
Agency, fried, comes back with tepid “evolution” approach pitched along with a rip-roaring story about how the cube is “forward looking” just to get the project across the finish line.
We’ve seen this sort of sequence play out many, many times.
It may have gone down differently. But I’m looking for a way to make sense of this.
It’s not always this way. Consider the recent Century 21 rebrand. That was, a.) needed, and b.) very well-executed.
And let me be clear: this isn’t sour grapes. 1000watt isn’t angling for NAR’s business. NAR didn’t – and doesn’t – need a new logo.
I’m bummed more than anything. Bummed that Bob Goldberg and Elizabeth Mendenhall went for the easy play, flubbed it, and in so doing diminished their capacity for executing the things they should have done before they ever touched the damn logo.
Perversely, the agency may have unknowingly designed the perfect visual: an askew and multidimensional symbol of institutional crisis.

I’m not a designer, so my perspective on this is strategic, not creative. Here’s what Patrick, our amazing Creative Director, had to say about it:
“Brand evolutions come about due to a variety of circumstances, however one truth that should exist for any of such effort is that the result should signal something exciting and new – a message to the greater world that your organization is always changing, getting better. The work should reflect that energy.
The NAR logo actually aged backwards instead of forwards here. It became even fussier than it was before, which is an odd outcome for such a large effort. If there was a cohesive story that drove this evolution, it is left to the viewer to decide what that was – and ultimately, anything you come up with seems easy, and even generic.”

Sometimes things that eventually succeed in real estate are dismissed for years as weird, tacky or gimmicky.
Those that do the dismissing apply their own aesthetic judgements to things made for someone else.
EXP Realty is an example of this. This company was scoffed at for years because it bases its operation within a virtual world. Yes, that’s right – avatars, group chats and such. It looks like a game, but it’s not.
EXP also trades OTC, which, let’s be real, strikes most of us as about as legit as a “massage parlor.”
But – check this out – the company has nearly tripled its agent count in the past 18 months (to 6,500) and has applied to be uplisted to the NASDAQ.
“Weird” sometimes works in real estate. I love that about this business.

It’s remarkable how consistently media outlets and blogs outside the industry have covered discount real estate startups over the past 20 years.
This piece, about Reali, a California-based newcomer, could have been written in 2002. Back then, the middleman/travel industry/information-empowered consumer narrative was being applied to YHD and eRealty.
That’s not to say Reali (or REX, Purplebricks, etc.) won’t succeed. They may. But seems to me they’d be better served bucking this tired “discount” story.

Hi, friends!
I have a potential new favorite recipe in your household: One-Pan Chicken Taco Skillet! It only calls for 5 ingredients (many of which you probably already have in your kitchen), and it’s guaranteed to be a crowd-pleaser!
This meal comes together in no time, thanks to a pound of quick-cooking ground chicken and some frozen veggies. (Ground turkey or lean ground beef would work too.) The addition of salsa and taco seasoning adds a ton of flavor without using one of everything from your spice rack. I don’t know about you, but it kind of annoys me when recipes have a zillion spices in them! Haha! Hey, what can I say? I’m all about keeping things simple when it comes to weeknight dinners. This recipe is definitely one to add to your regular rotation!
1 pound ground chicken
1.5 cups frozen sliced peppers and onions
1/2 cup frozen corn
12 ounces salsa of choice
2 tbsp taco seasoning
In a large skillet, cook ground chicken; breaking it up with a wooden spoon or spatula.
Add taco seasoning and then frozen corn and peppers. Continue to heat until corn and peppers are defrosted.
Add salsa and heat for another few minutes until it is warm.
Serve over rice, cauliflower rice, inside tacos shells/wraps, or with tortilla chips!

One of the highly anticipated movies includes Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanjay Dutt biopic. The forthcoming film remains to be in the headlines with its stellar cast. Now, the makers have made another addition to the cast and it will get everyone excited.
According to the reports, Tabu will be seen in a cameo in the film. The reports suggest that Tabu will be playing herself and presenting the Best Actor award in a comic role to Ranbir Kapoor, who is playing Sanjay Dutt. The makers will be recreating the moment from 2004, back when Sanjay Dutt had won the Best Actor in a comic role for Munna Bhai MBBS. Back then, Tabu was the one who had presented him with the award.
Earlier, Tabu had worked with Sanjay Dutt and Tabu in Sarhad Paar (2006). Since then, the two stars have been good friends. So, when Rajkumar Hirani met with her, she got nostalgic.
On the work front, Tabu will also be seen in Golmaal Again. Directed by Rohit Shetty, the film also stars Ajay Devgn, Parineeti Chopra, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu and Shreyas Talpade. It is scheduled for a Christmas 2017 release.

Awe-inspiring sports arena, world-class athletes and theme parks
With a stadium that can fit more than a quarter of the Arlington population in its seats, the home turf of the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium—and our beloved Texas Rangers at Globe Life Park, along with the other 10 plus stadiums and arenas in town—are something we’re hugely grateful for. And we can’t forget Six Flags Over Texas! We are thankful to have such stellar sports stars and amenities in our town.
The outdoors
We love our parks! Arlington boasts over 90 award-winning public parks, including a Frisbee golf course, TWO dog parks, THREE skateboard parks (with four more on the way!), FOUR golf courses, SIX pools, and SEVEN recreation centers. We also have 10 miles of mountain bike trails, 26 tennis courts and another 56 paved trails! With an average of 235 sunny days a year, and our tolerable “humid subtropical” climate, we are grateful to have so many beautiful options to keep us in shape, healthy, and happy.

Not only have 5 restaurants in our city been featured on Diners, Dives and Drive Ins (Jamaican Gates, Prince Lebanese Grill, Chop House Burgers, Taste of Europe & Twisted Root), but Arlington at large is an international and local food epicenter. There are over 200 locally-owned restaurants, dozens of international markets, plus Mexican, Vietnamese, Chinese, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, Indian, Traditional American, Italian cuisine and more. This makes our bellies and taste buds very thankful!

Arlington was ranked one of America’s best places to live last year. And yet, for all this luxury and entertainment, Arlington can still be entirely affordable. Sonu Sood gets pulled up by BMC for illegal alterations in his property in Versova
Actors breaking civic rules and making illegal extensions to their property is not a new phenomenon. In the recent times, Kapil Sharma, Irrfan Khan, Arshad Warsi and just few weeks ago, Rani Mukerji was pulled up by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for an alleged illegal construction around her bungalow, Krishna Ram, in Juhu, Mumbai.
The latest actor now to face the heat from the BMC is Sonu Sood. A notice has been served to the actor to demolish an illegal alteration in his restaurant in the upmarket Versova locality. Although the place is owned by Sonu Sood, it is run by an acquaintance. They approached a local court and even got a stay order against BMC’s decision for razing the illegal portion. Sonu Sood made it clear that he has given the property on rent and the ones managing the restaurant in that place have been asked to explain everything to the BMC. He signed off by saying that he respects the BMC and that he follows all the rules.
Earlier, Sonu Sood faced another problem with his property in Versova. He had given a place on J P Road on rent to Farhan Azmi, son of politician Abu Azmi and husband of Ayesha Takia, and Kashiff Khan, chairman and managing director of K Group. Both started the popular restaurant Koyla. But in April 2017, Sonu Sood was forced to down the shutters of Koyla after Kashiff failed to pay the dues and his cheques bounced. Meanwhile, Farhan Azmi complained to the cops about Kashiff Khan that when he asked the latter to end the agreement, Kashiff sent goons to the former’s Bandra eatery and took away cash. Kashiff Khan did a counter-complaint, alleging that Farhan Azmi duped him. The matter is still pending.

Today we have received notification from NHS England that dental practices must not use any instruments that can cause an aerosol. This means that our high speed drills and ultrasonic scalers cannot be used. We cannot do fillings, crowns, bridges or scalings without these instruments (and many other procedures besides). So, the vast majority of our operations are now shut down.
We have further been advised not to treat anyone over 70 years of age, anyone who is medically at risk, or anyone with symptoms of dry cough/fever/headache.
This means that most of our routine appointments have been cancelled for the foreseeable future.
You will appreciate that the situation is developing rapidly and each day brings new advice.
As things stand at the moment, the dental practice remains open for some procedures and for emergencies. If you need advice or further information, please call the practice.
These are difficult times for all concerned and your patience is requested while we navigate the next few weeks.
