This flood protections channel saves hundreds of lives and agricultural land every year from floodwater.
Reinstatement of Spring water

The fresh spring water was blocked, irrigation channels were empty hence crops were suffering. RAHA reinstated the spring and constructed more irrigation channels.
Now the locals are growing and selling almonds, grapes, different vegetables and also export quality apples and cherries.
UNDP work with partners in Eastern Equatoria, the richly forested and culturally diverse gateway to Uganda, Kenya and Ethiopia.

To celebrate International Women’s Day 2022, UN Women, UNDP, and UNCDF jointly organized an event in Dhaka with several financial institutions in Bangladesh to highlight the importance of better and easier access to finance for women. The event was an initiative of the “WING: Women’s Empowerment for Inclusive Growth” project, funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bangladesh.

Recently I visited Tajikistan and Afghanistan for UNDP, capturing efforts on both sides of the border to enhance mutually improved living conditions.
Under the wing of Beyond Borders Media - www.beyondbordersmedia.com we produced a short video documentary on UNDPs efforts on both sides of the border.

9 March 2010, New Delhi, India -- UNDP Administrator Helen Clark meets with Indian Prime Minister Manmohon Singh. The meeting was held on a day when the upper house of the Parliament of India passed a historic bill that reserves 33 percent of parliament and state assembly seats for women.

Bandabuliya is as central to Nicosia’s future as it was to its past. As sites of intense social and economic interaction, markets define and reflect the history and culture of their surroundings. From ancient to more recent times, traders crossing the Mediterranean Sea used markets as conduits to circulate products and even ideas from one world to another. Today, as appreciation for historic city centers grows around the world, traditional food markets are being celebrated for their economic, social and cultural value.
