This painted turtle was rescued crossing the road from one pond to another. He was kept in a nice outdoor cage until one day he mysteriously escaped.

I was walking with my friends along a side road near Christie Lake when I saw this turtle digging a hole in the ground dangerously close to the road pavement. While we were snapping pictures, the turtle decided that it doesn't like the publicity and retreated back to the safety of the lake. I hope she is safe now.

Do you know how hard it is to get sea life, let alone turtles to line up for a photo? I recall there were two behind me and these three on the other side, which adds up to too many turtles!

For my sweet niece. This McCalls pattern was very misleading. Nowhere on the package did it say you needed to provide your own embroidered pillowcase. I found my own pattern and hand-stitched this cute turtle.
