I find it is rather therapeutic to hand feed Green Sea Turtles, plus they are amazing and beautiful sea creatures!! They are so graceful in movement as they seem to glide through the water seamlessly.

Trampled by Turtles kicked off the 2012 All Good Music Festival July 19 in Thornville, Ohio.

This is another shot of my dad's beloved pet tortoise, a Red Footed Tortoise (Chelonoidis Carbonaria) to be exact. Well, one of three that he has. It was just coming out from under the shade in the enclosure to get some sunlight. When I was looking back at this shot, it reminded me of a conversation that I had with a dear friend recently. She said that she was going to try getting out of her comfort zone and trying new things and new experiences...kind of like this cute little tortoise.

Maybe it's a good idea to "come out of your shell and get into the sunlight sometimes" ! :) After all, life is meant to be lived, not tolerated. And simply existing is not the same thing as living. I think my friend, Jusni said it best in his post entitled "Reflecting" .

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

Native to the eastern part of the U.S., eastern box turtles (Terrapene carolina) are land dwellers that can live up to 100 yrs. in the wild! In many of NCBN's parks they are of special concern, so if you happen to spot one, let the staff know. This turtle was found in a meadow at Cape Cod NS.
