Nothing's Better Than A Good Stretch...

Green Cay Wetlands, Boynton Beach, FL

Changed the title after tv writer suggested it looks more like yoga than aerobics. I was thinking of the streching exercises, which I vaguely remember from my aerobics classes, never been to a yoga class... shame on me. Anyway, I do agree the title is better and in fact I kept changing it from "aerobics" to "yoga" back to "aerobics" before making the shot public... :-)

Green Sea Turtle (Chelonia mydas) going to the surface to catch a breath of air was photographed while snorkeling the Kona coast of Hawaii Island

Encountering all the paparazzi seemed to stun the turtle. He simply stopped on the asphalt, not knowing which way to turn.

aren't they awesome??

M is his name.

These turtles were sunning themselves, and I was laughing at the little turtle balancing on top of the big one! So funny! He stayed there the whole time I was shooting, too!

Taken at Cox Arboretum.

Just off Catseye Beach, they are apparently drawn there due to all the tasty algae which grows in that particular bay.

Common snapping turtle (Chelydra serpentina) - Waukesha County, Wisconsin, USA

This snapper wasn't as large as the one in the previous photo but it was still quite big and impressive. I posted a shot of this one earlier but here I tried to get a different angle with the sun at my back. This proved challenging as there was a fair bit of reeds and cattails in the way but I found a small natural window through the vegetation that allowed me a clear view and framed the snapper nicely.

Turtle,Turtles are reptiles of the order Chelonii or Testudines characterised by a special bony or cartilaginous shell developed from their ribs and acting as a shield. Turtle may refer to the chelonian order as a whole (American English) or to fresh-water and sea-dwelling chelonians
