Track Lighting - I took this down to update with new stainless flex tracking that would accomodate more lights...after patching holes, sanding mud and dealing with a huge mess over every inch of the kitchen, I realized that the new light fixture hangs down too far and would be in your face!! Put the old one back up and added an additional light....big waste of time!! Now we are thinking about Recessed lighting instead!!!

You may recognize this shot. It's the same one I took from before we moved in, and after we moved in. Except this time, we're moved in and settled. Tonight, we had a "house warming party". And it was WARM! Lots of friends and wine and adventures onto the roof. It's nice to be done moving (except for hanging blinds... which will happen, uh, someday!).
I love guests and having them cook with me. Cooking together makes the dinner far more delicious... and easy.

We ended up cutting .5" cement board and laying it in the space left by the old cabinets. This left the floor the perfect height!
