This is a distant view, with an 18x optical zoom, of what was undoubtedly the best clump of thyme on the face of this roadcut rock face (sheeted dykes of basaltic andesite, or was it andesitic basalt?) and also the most inaccessible. Despite several attempts to find a route up to it, fear prevailed, and it remained obstinately out of reach. Naturally, I discovered later that this thyme is very comon indeed.

"parsley sage rosemary and thyme..."

Based on a Giada De Laurentiis recipe. Served with thyme smashed potato with pink sea salt, salad.

I was trying to ID this and came up with a plant that seemed almost the same, does anyone know if this is thyme? It lasted the winter in the ground, and is now once again beginning to cover everything in sight. I planted it late last summer, so I do not know if it gets flowers, yet :-)

From the photo series: 'In Our Garden.'

On a walk up Moughton, near Austwick, the way was carpeted with wild thyme.

I guess I don't have a black thumb after all. A few leaves started to turn brown and die a few days ago, and I decided it was time to harvest the thyme.

I found these at chinatown. They were small, purple, and little bit sweet. I cooked them in the oven with fresh thyme. Then, I added chives and olive oil. Delicious!

It was the first time I used my new 500mm 1.8 lens, and I know it's not the best focus, but I looks yummy :)

Jim and I decided to change our plans and go somewhere different this evening for dinner.

We shared smoked salmon, shiitake mushroom penne pasta with garlic toast.

And yes, it was yummy!!!! :~)

I think Jim was a little disappointed, we never had Indian, so I'm making butter tofu, (butter tofu is just like butter chicken, as I always substitute the chicken with tofu, although I might ask Jim if he want's chicken instead tonight).

Punjabi Chhole, rice and nan bread.

Should be another good evening....good food a movie and off to bed early as we had a late night last night....

Crowded thyme seedlings - planted really thickly because the seeds were from 2005 - they all sprouted though and now I have some thinning to do.

I broke down and put in alpine and wild strawberries...

The thyme that I planted last year has miraculously survived the winter.

Sweater knit of Blue Sky Alpacas sportweight. Such great yarn.

"Pizza thyme" is a hybrid, of Oregano and Thyme...this is our first year growing the herb, and I heartily recommend it for all dishes needing any type of Italian seasoning, or just on open faced oven cheese-toast, or a tossed salad.

I have dried the leaves, then stripped the stems, and now have herbs for the winter---just crush in between fingers or in palms, and enjoy this marvelous flavor all year! Yay!!!

The thyme is in full flower in the garden.

many of those I went to school with ended up taking as their first jobs out of school (or as their paid internships) positions that paid just a bit more than minnimum wage (about $8.00/hour here). Of course, of of the thing you realize early on is that the lower your wage, the more actual work you perform.

In the Middle Ages, people slept with thyme under their pillow as a cure for melancholy and epilepsy.

Traveler in Thyme by Marcia Cash, that is! his is a dress she made by hand and there's a matching men's outfit too- just need to find a guy it'll fit on as it's for an EID. So is this dress, but Asa's head is on a Granado again, and I think she'll keep it. She seems genuinely happy to be back on one and this one has a larger bust, so works with Asa's head size better. Doens't she have a gleam in her eye? I think so.

LOTS of pics for Marcia with a ton of thanks for these gorgeous outfits!
