This is the second vignette I built demonstrating the life in an average castle. The noble grants an audience. Enter in and bow the knee. You may rise. Present your request.
The Throne of Princess Sitamun, found in the tomb of her grandparents, Yuya and Thuya in Thebes (KV46). New Kingdom (18th Dynasty); Egyptian Museum, Cairo.
It's important, if not essential, to have a Throne Room, don't you think?! Just a humble room where you can go and sit for a while if you come over all Regal ;-))
Inspired by Brighton Pavilion.

My third entry into CCC XIV, for the Traveling Salesman category. Credit for the star design over the throne goes to Disco86.
One of the main things I wanted to include in this build was the awning over the king’s seat, as it is historically accurate, and something I haven’t seen done much in LEGO. The balcony area and floor were perhaps the funnest parts to build however.
The grand merchant Tajir specializes in fine silks, spices, jewels, and robes. Tajir has brought a selection of his wares to King Dhahab. What sumptuous items will the King and Queen select?

The back of the gilded throne found in Tutankhamen's tomb, richly decorated with floral reliefs and a chain of Uraeuses with faience and semiprecious stone inlays. New Kingdom: Egyptian Museum, Cairo.
Ahhhh, Game of Thrones.... How can one not love you? Edgy, dark, mysterious, sexy...
Daenerys's completely kickass self, Jon Snow's awesome hair, Tyrion's wise and witty remarks...
I'm sad to say I've not yet read the books, but if they're even remotely as good as the show... then they're awesome.
Wotan's Throne is the prominent feature at Cape Royal on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. This photo was taken precariously closely to the edge of the rim in 40-50 mph winds. Thankfully it all worked out and I got one of my favorite shots of all time.

27th Annual Florida Renaissance Festival
March 2019 ~ Deerfield Beach, Florida U.S.A.
This was my 12th year covering this fun festival filled with color and pageantry and beautiful people.
Each year some of the regulars return and sometimes fresh new faces appear to join the Renaissance
Family. Some are vendors or employees, and some customers dress up to fit in with the renaissance
festival fun and its 16th century way of life. One big happy family of a few thousand escaping the dull-drums
of their daily life for a few hours. This year's crop of new faces was lovely. Hope you enjoy the images.
I try to capture their joy. Always fun, festive and very colorful. Thanks very much for looking. Hazaaa!!

After seeing that the monsoons were back in the forecast during the early part of this week, I headed out the Grand Canyon's North Rim in hopes of some epic shooting conditions. Well, for the most part, the monsoons kind of petered out and there was a fair amount of haze from a small wildfire in the area. At least there were some leftover clouds to make things at least somewhat interesting. Seeing as this was my first ever visit to the North Rim, I'm starting out with some of the classic locations...like the above scene of Wotan's Throne at Cape Royal.
¨11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.¨
Revelation 20:11-15
¨dont judge and you shall not be judged¨
Happy New Year 2018 and may bring prosperity in everyone´s life.
Wanna take a seat on this wooden throne? I don't usually feel the need to include a model in my shots, but in this case it would have been nice. That tree stump looks very lonely all on its own.
