Taken using a Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 AI manual focus lens (Phil's lens, thanks Phil!).

The D300 allows users to enter non-CPU lens data which is great. So it's able to record the f/stop, able to meter and aperture mode works, yay!

(Of course you still need to manually set the aperture through the lens)

Taking one step forward puts me at the threshold. Misunderstandings can be the threshold to anger or something better depending on which direction you decide to step.

Like some of my Flickr friends, I’ve got a project to keep me going during lockdown

Fort Scratchley, Newcastle.

Isn't photography a wonderful form of art? Really in it's infancy, picture taking has been around for a little over 100 years. Painting, drawing, literature, music and other forms have been around for thousands! I like this quote...

"Never have I found the limits of the photographic potential. Every horizon, upon being reached, reveals another beckoning in the distance. Always, I am on the threshold."

~ W. Eugene Smith

One of the things I enjoy about Flickr is being exposed to so many images from around the world, each with different style, technique, and subject matter. Thanks to all of you for your creative vision expressed through photography.

I've been sorting through textural images visited, photographed, and imagined through the latter of 2010 and realized that a few were passed up for others, yet each spoke of places and nuances on the prairies that shaped my affections for the Southern Alberta landscape I enjoy so much. Each place left it's fingerprint on my visual appreciation for light and subject.

So I've decided they'd make great "B Sides" while the winter winds blow and whiteness abounds.

We got on my bike and we rode to the sea

I stood on the dock and you got on your knees

Grand Marnier and a pocket full of speed

We did it all day till we started to bleed

Are you feeling apprehensive?

I can leap higher than an old king toad

I do 185 on the new ring road

I love a blue girl and I like my grog

Its a black and white world, cos I'm a Scorpio dog
