Saying farewell to a friend, my humble little threader. I've used this same small piece of metal to start every stitch for over 5 years. Untold tens of thousands of times, I'm surprised my fingerprints aren't worn into the metal... Lately it's just shredding my floss to bits, so it's time for a new one.

And this piece is about how in the traditional art world, art quilters and fiber artists are mavericks, breaking and bending all sorts of rules. Experimenting with closeups and textures today.

I don't know how often I took photos of this spool of thread for this month's color and then I didn't use it after all because I found something else.

Urban threads Whooo's There Owl.

I bought this in size large, and shrunk it down to fit the space on my shirt...then added two amber jewels for eyes! I chose a tan color thread to match the button color.
