Previously my oldest sewing book was a 1916 sewing book for 4th-6th grade in the Los Angeles school system. S bought me this one yesterday which is from 1906 and is a 1st-4th grade book for handwork for the Indianapolis Public School system which I went to school in for all but my senior year.

Note also that Africa north of the equator is called Negroland, and that much of western Canada is unexplored territory. There appears to be a few fugitive marks at the bottom of the map; presumably they were the first indications of a previously unknown land mass, now called Antarctica.
