Have no idea what this, it's 30mm long which is twice the size of an ordinary wasp and there are 3 of them...help?
The fearsome Wodewose terrified the Medieval mind, his strength, ferocity and ability to move in silence. or suddenly appear was widely known. Carvings of him are fairly common in churches and cathedrals, such as Chester; where I took this photo. Given the location I could not help but recall that to the West of the Roman city, the Wirral was once a wild forest. Such was its reputation within the imagination and myth that it featured in the 14th Century story of Gawain and the Green Knight. The Cathedral has a number of Wodewose carvings, made by craftsmen who would have heard tales of the nearby forest, and its terrifying guardians.

Do you remember that movie The Sandlot? This dog is THE BEAST from that movie. This was an 8 foot fence, and the dog's bark was a deep, booming reminded that SK and I were only a cinder block wall away from imminent death.
