This morning we were faced with 75 km (47mph) winds. We were walking past an outhouse when the gusts caught the doors and repeatedly slammed them shut. Lacey was so scared she was frozen in place and I had to put her leash ( her security blanket ) on so she would move.

Pokey becomes terrified whenever a smoke detector goes off (it must be that those big ears of his are sensitive to the sound), and unfortunately we've been having a problem with one of them and it goes off for no reason every once in a while. It happened again today, and when it happens, there is no easing his fear, except to carry him everywhere with me. (I managed this semi-self portrait, using the canon eos app on my ipad - I love that app!) PS- yes, I know, Pokey needs his nails trimmed - that terrifies him too!

Mimi did not enjoy the ride home from Dallas. She meowed the whole way. As you can see, from the look on her face, she is still recovering from the journey.

Lots of tree limbs are down here. Roofs are ripped up, and palm trees have fallen over. Many buildings have damage. In downtown Galveston the whole side of a three-story historical building (Yaga's Restaurant) fell down.
