I am terrified of such a commitment - it means I'm going to have to put my foot down and say this is important enough to me that I will be MAKING time every day for at least one photo. Day one: a Sunday morning walk/bike ride with my little man. (Gotta get out there early before the sun cooks us all...) I am a total novice at this - right now, I am just working on making myself take out the camera that I carry with me everywhere. So, here goes. Wish me luck! :)
Halloween 2010, New York, NY
Highlights: Rich shaving; Nosferatu replacing my predisposition to fear him with love him and his antics; impromptu rendition of "Dayman"; with a Dennis; Kate being hot enough for entry sans-ID; Jon starting the dance party with spontaneous breakdancing; and, Rich hugging both Kate and I, saying "Thanks friends..." and receiving a punch in the stomach from me as a response. Top it all off with Kate getting NES Anticipation to work finally and we've got ourselves a successful Halloween.

This was Rocco (then still called Joey), just after I picked him up at the shelter. He was terrified - picked up by a man.
He almost didn't move, as if that was his way to prevent me from getting mad at him, and beat him up afterwards.
Why a favorite? Because I know what became of him.
This feller had the unenviable job of being PaRappa the Rapper - the costume was stellar, but it actually frightened my girlfriend.
I don't blame her.
This image was taken for my photography documentary project on animal cruelty. It was taken at my local pound. Sadly in reality many of the animals in the pounds across the world are destroyed because of no fault of their own. Just that people don't want them. But still continue to breed unhealthy animals, without a thought of what they are contributing to the already over population of animals, desperately needing homes.
So please go to your local rescue centre and save a life!!!!

For Navaratri’s seventh night, we celebrate Goddess Kalaratri, otherwise known as Kali. She takes a terrifying form, with eyes of fire and skin as dark as night, to purify the world by killing demons and destroying evil in the form of ignorance and egoism in the hearts of man.
She is the personification of the Ultimate, all comes from Her and all returns to Her. Her name means the One who is always giving and She will do everything to save Her children, absorbing all from Her devotees: the good, the bad, and the negative. She always delivers favourable results and Her devotees need not fear Her.

Secret #27 I have a phobia of toothbrushes. Its more the sound they make when you are brushing your teeth. Even thinking about it now gives me goosebumps.
Having this problem really causes issues with cleaning my youngest's teeth. I cant show any reaction when my eldest cleans her teeth as I dont want her to pick up on it.
It takes alot to clean my own teeth, I really have to talk myself into it. It can take a while before I clean my teeth, I can be standing at the bathroom sink for up to 10-15 minutes on the bad days. Today I'm glad to say was a good day.

Having dogs that are terrified of fireworks, Rebecca and I usually don't go out for fireworks on the fourth of July. This year, the folks agreed to watch them last minute, so we ran out to Disneyland to try to catch the 9:00 p.m. spectacular. Having only 30 minutes to drive to the resort, get through security, enter the park and find a spot, I was pretty sure we wouldn't make it. Luckily, once we fought through the hoards of people camping out in Downtown Disney, it was smooth sailing getting into the park. We ended up finding a spot with 5 minutes to spare--just enough time to set up a tripod, set my exposure, and catch my breath!
Tip: If you don't want to be packed like a sardine watching fireworks at the hub or on Main Street, go to It's A Small World esplanade! It's never overly crowded, you have great viewing angles to the show, and you still get to enjoy show projections on the It's A Small World facade.

On this night, we celebrated goddess Kalaratri. On the outside, this form of Durga has the most fierce and terrifying appearance. She symbolises the killing of the ego and the neutralising of the 'misdeeds' that people perform. She has a dark complexion which symbolises infinity and, therefore, She absorbs everything. She accepts everything from the devotee, not only all the good, but all the negative qualities as well, and that's why, ultimately, She is the most loving Mother. She wants to give Her child only the best by purifying everything around them and within them.
Every night of Navaratri we perform a guru-puja,
kalash-puja, yajna, abhishekam, and arati, as well as Divya Prabandham satsangs from different speakers and comments throughout the evening by Gurudev Himself.
Tonight's commentary was focused on Maha-Kali and the tranquility of her darkness that absorbs all the negativity. She seems to be the most terrifying yet She is the sweetest. She takes it upon herself to destroy all of our negativities and She brings us to the feet of Lord Narayana.
