I had to take my kitty into the vet yesterday due to post-spaying complications. She had a lump on her belly. But apparently it's not a big deal and she's going to be fine. However, it was a tense time in that waiting room before being seen by a vet, both for Piggy and me. Whereas I was just generally worried about my kitty's health, Piggy was worried about the patients on the other side of the waiting room.
Immersive theatre from Punchdrunk in collaboration with Sony, promoting the launch of new PS3 game Resistance 3.
The scene is set in an alternate reality sometime during the 1950s, following the invasion of earth by alien Chimera who have killed or enslaved most of the human race.
Making use of disused railway arches beneath Waterloo station, the event brought the game to life with participants playing the part of survivors on a terrifying chase to complete their vital mission for the human resistance.
So I search the State Library and Archives of Florida online (http://www.floridamemory.com/PhotographicCollection/), and while doing a search for Gilchrist County, this horrifying Samara-like photo appeared.
The caption simply reads "Clora Belle White posed before Erving DuBose home : Gilchrist County, Florida"
You can find it yourself by searching "N031279 " in the link above.
*shudder*
Taken in a clothing store in town, I think these are the mose terrifying Manaquins iv ever seen! there horrible!
So I was shopping in University Village, and I was in a certain store that shall remain namess, looking at the insanely overpriced doo-dads. And as I examined the $30 Christmas tree ornaments, I saw... this thing. The background of the picture is the wing of an ornament shaped like a swan, if that gives you some sense of scale. The body was maybe 3 or 4 mm.
If anyone knows what this is, I'd be interested to know. The crucifix on its back is a nice touch... ETA: Pseudoscorpion!!
Taken for the Active Assignment Weekly! group. This week's assignment: Wish
I wish for less terrified teddies (especially their respective terrified owners) in 2008. We all know that there are many bad things in this world (and at least as many good things) but if children are being victims (of wars, crimes, abuse etc.) this is certainly the worst I can imagine.
The picture came out pretty depressing although the original idea for it came from the rather funny expression of this teddy (my wife's "Orsi", 27 years old).
What it took
I took the restriction by heart and took this shot in jpeg mode (medium size) using the in-camera b/w program. I did not even load this picture up to my computer (in order to withstand the temptation of any post-processing), but loaded it up to Flickr directly from the card.
ISO 3200 was chosen to get a little grain as in newspaper reporter shots (did not work...). Coffee (was cold already and would have been discarded anyways) was spilled on the ground to make it look dirty or bloody or whatever.
For us mere mortals, the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti’s terrifying depreciation could, mean the magic of a V12 Ferrari is within reach. As a used purchase it makes a huge amount of sense if you can stomach the fuel bills and, while you might not stare back at yourself when driving past shop windows, get one of these on the right road and you’ll feel like a driving god. It’s a wonderful machine and comes highly recommended.

If you can afford it, test drive the 612 with caution, because after this you will never be happy with anything less. The rest of us will dream on as you pass by.
I will bounce this ball off of your head as you sleep! You will be terrified!
I found this in a store near my old house.
Week 28/52
That's me. I'm terrified. I am terrified to step out of the box and think.
This post is late because of a number of reasons, mainly because I have been putting my life first rather than anything else. This whole weekend from Friday to Sunday night, at 11:55 pm, I have been with friends. It's amazing to be driving down the main street in your town when there is practically no one outside and you and your best friend are listening to this song that has no meaning but soon will. And then you start sharing worries and tears, and you keep your eyes straight upon the road and you watch the snow falling down and you think life will never be perfect again. Those are the moments I will remember.
So. I now have about a week off until school starts up. This means that I can actually work on my week. The thing is I'm busy all day Tuesday, I'm working tomorrow, busy Wednesday and then I have Thursday and Friday which will be good. I plan to make next week's photo better. They have been nothing but lame close-ups in the bit of light I can get.
Also, partially because of the lame lighting and partially because of life, photography has taken a backseat. My friends and I are dealing with something. Also, my family and I are dealing with something else as well. I just want life to get better.
We thought someone threw a rock when we heard a piercing scream. We craned our necks upwards and saw a body falling off the summit.
Then the parachute opened. Phew.
