This is a picture of the old Lackawanna railroad terminal in Hoboken, NJ. At one time, the Lacawanna terminal was a busy center of travel - being one of the only ways to get to certain parts of New Jersey easily from New York. Ferries also ran out of this terminal which complimented Hoboken's once great shipping businesses.
Now, all the shipping copmpanies are gone. The rail system is a small fraction of what it used to be; the ferry system is also half of what it once was. The terminal suffered and it is now an eyesore despite the great design and intricate detail lost on "modern" structures.
There is a revival of sorts, however, and the entire terminal, which now houses NJ Transit offices, is being refurbished; I think the idea is to bring small businesses and shopping back to the area.

Taken on Public Square in downtown Cleveland, I really liked how the Terminal Tower was reflecting in the glass entrance to the BP Building. I'm not sure which one I like better, the single reflection or the double one.
Front facade on Grand Central Terminal in New York City. The clock is the world's largest example of Tiffany glass.
Remake of this shot trying to minimize the harsh shadows by waiting for an overcast day.

Terminal Tower is a 52-story landmark skyscraper located on Public Square in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. It was built during the skyscraper boom of the 1920s and 1930s, and was the fourth-tallest building in the world when it was officially dedicated on June 28, 1930. On a clear day, visitors on the observation deck can see 30 miles from downtown Cleveland. Available for purchase at dalekincaid.com.
No ship in today. I was glad to have arrived, parked my bicycle and visited the restaurant at the terminal to enjoy a light lunch.

The first time seeing the BCT since 1961. She's frazzled but still impressive! Kudos to the Central Terminal Restoration Corporation for their efforts.

It is early in the morning and I am getting ready to leave the Philadelphia airport and go back to St. Louis
The downtown transit terminal in Saskatoon was relocated due to a water-main break between 2nd Avenue North and 3rd Avenue North on 23rd Street East.
When I lived in Terre Haute, Indiana this was the bus terminal and a hangout for the homeless and those up to no good. The police pretty much stayed away. When a new bus terminal was built a mile away it only got seedier. Next door there was a dive diner called "Coney Island" which offered a basic weiner and burger menu. Friends and I loved to go there late at night and order "two chokers and a bowl of death", and that is exactly what we would tell the sweaty, large waitresses. It was code for two chili dogs and a bowl of chili. Much to my dismay Coney Island and the building which housed it were gone.
Gracias a Miguel Angel Reina, por las fotos tomadas en su ultimo viaje a Cuba.
