CLARION ALLEY in SAN FRANCISCO is known for it's incredible GRAFFITI & MURAL SIZE STREET ART. The works change every so often, usually when some a-0's destroy a piece with dumb tags. It's worth coming down to the Mission/Valencia corridor to experience a long tradition of street art. This alley used to be just political inspired murals. Now the art runs a gambit of fun to political.. (HINT: lots of trendy restaurants on the connecting Valencia Street. Though the alley is not really safe at dusk/night)
My boss, Claire had me for the second year in a row in our company grab bag. She got me what is, in my estimation, the perfect $20 gift. A PINHOLE CAMERA that I got to build myself! I still have to learn how to use the thing properly.... but look how fun...

I took this in Times Square in 2009 with my Nikon D40X and my 14-24mm WA zoom. I was standing of the sidewalk waiting to cross and the Fire truck came around my right shoulder and I pulled my camera up and panned it as it came around the corner. I have mixed emotions on this Photo; the D40X is not known for great low light handling and there is a fair bit of grain in it, but I felt it kind of captures the spirit of Times Square at night.

CF is such a great cook. I love eating at her house as I do not have to think about having a good balance of foods (protein, fiber etc) or eating healthy as she has already considered that. She wonderfully combines things so well that I would rather eat in than eat out. I always leave feeling inspired and for weeks I cook so innovatively. But then the muse wears off and we are back at, “What do you want?” “I don't know, what do you want?”
Times Square has been closed off to automotive traffic; cars have been relplaced by hundreds of lawn chairs. These fellows were singing wonderful Do Wop for spare change. It was a beautiful day and there was great energy in Times Square.
