Yet another look at the free public toilets in Times Square, NYC, hosted by Charmin toilet paper.

I wonder what she tells her Mom when she's asked "What are you doing for work now, dear?"

Times Square once the sun goes down is truly one of the most electrifying, exciting, places in the World. Being surrounded by the endless sea of bright neon lights, in an ocean of tens of thousands of starstruck people is a remarkable feeling. I'm a big city kind of guy, and being right here in the middle of all of the action certainly does it for me. It definitely makes me excited to be in the crowded streets of Hong Kong, and Kowloon, just 2 weeks from now!

Dutzendteich | Große Straße

The great road is almost 2 km long and 40 m wide. It was intended to be the central axis of the site and a parade road for the Wehrmacht. In its northwestern prolongation the road points towards Nuremberg Castle. This was to create a relation between the role of Nuremberg during the Third Reich and its role during medieval times.

At Explora, through a kaleidoscope-type thing.

whoa.

Do you ever have those times in your life when everything seems to be going wrong and you just want the world to stop spinning, even for a moment, so you can catch your breath and just think clearly?

I am going home this weekend. Maybe just for one night. We'll see. Either way, I can't wait to be around my family and be happy.

I need to be happy.

2 weeks down. Only 50 left. lol

Oh yes, and you can see my bad habit of picking the skin on my lip.

Times Square is a place that most New Yorkers, given the chance, usually avoid. The dense crowds of tourists, the bright artificial light of video billboards and relentless LED marquees (not to mention cash-counting mascot characters) cause a compression and over-stimulation that many people experience as essentially claustrophobic. As with many tourist attractions, what may be a central attraction on the map for the visitor is a blank zone for the local: a place to be side-stepped, and most often discounted or disparaged. You might live here, but what do you really know about Times Square?

Because Times Square is so overwhelming both visually and acoustically, it may seem like the worst place to try to practice listening. For this very reason, we'd like to take you to some lesser-known sounds of Times Square. On some historical sites, we may try to reinsert sound to animate it again; at other sites, we might provide the vocal musical accompaniment. We hope to introduce you to sounds you might never have noticed or understood. Come willing to listen, talk, and even sing along.

This walk holds 12 people.

Drive-by Remix (2017) features Nick Cave’s Soundsuits in motion. Colorful textiles spin exuberantly across the screen as the Soundsuits somersault and roll, fall from the sky, bounce on pogo sticks, and dance across an endless white field. Amidst the energetic movement, a figure adorned with a stop sign appears, conveying an underlying sense of urgency in the jubilant expression of freedom.

Multi-media artist and polymath RaFia’s practice centers on self-portraiture through the lens of gentrification, millennial issues, mental illness, racism, and sensory overload. With surrealist distortions, hypnotic animations, and bass-heavy music production, RaFia seeks to both soothe and alert the viewer to a new reality.

Dizzillusions (2018) is a self-portrait, digitally painted and animated in a looping video. The artist’s head floats against a background of psychedelic waves and vibrating, color-shifting shapes. In the context of Times Square, Dizzillusions speaks to the experience of sensorial abundance living in the city.
