Times Square was pretty crowded. It's a little worse than normal here because this show was just letting out.
The street fair named Atlantic Antic begins immediately behind the camera (yearly in September). This triangle, named for the Brooklyn Daily Times (1848-1937), is bound by Flatbush Avenue (in the rear), Fourth Avenue (where the police officer is standing), and Atlantic Avenue (west behind the camera, east past the right of the buildings). The building in the foreground was constructed with the arrival of the Interborough subway from Manhattan in 1908. Originally it served for ticket sales (five cents) and chopping (until the c. 1921 installation of electric turnstiles collecting nickels), and as entrance to the new subway, but its use now is as skylight. Across Flatbush Avenue, one reaches both the subway and the Long Island Rail Road under the blue awning.

The white-fronted tern is the most common tern on the New Zealand coastline, at times occurring in flocks of many hundreds or even thousands of birds. It is mainly a marine species that is seldom found far from the coast. The name ‘white-fronted’ refers to the ‘frons’ or forehead, where a thin strip of white separates the black cap from the black bill. Most other ‘capped’ terns, including the black-fronted tern, have black caps that reach the bill when in breeding plumage. The scientific name striata refers to the finely-barred (striated) dorsal plumage of recently fledged white-fronted terns, as the original description and name was based on a juvenile bird painted by William Ellis, surgeon’s second mate on the Discovery, on Captain Cook’s third visit to New Zealand - www.nzbirdsonline.org.nz
Given how many times I've taken a shot like this, I'm sure I would have posted one. But no, apparently not; the only versions are during the daytime. So, from a warm evening in spring's summer, San Francisco behind the J Church stop's shelter at Dolores Park.

New Times (Phoenix, AZ) was founded in 1970 and over the next three decades grew to become the largest alternative-newspaper chain in the country. The company started with Phoenix New Times, whose writers have won the Arizona Press Club's Journalist of the Year award on a regular basis. In 1983, the company began expanding, first acquiring Westword in Denver and ultimately growing to include Miami New Times, the Dallas Observer, the Houston Press, SF Weekly in San Francisco, Cleveland Scene, the Riverfront Times in St. Louis, The Pitch in Kansas City, and New Times Broward-Palm Beach in Ft. Lauderdale. {www.newtimes.com}
On the last day before the two week Christmas holiday, the Coca Cola Christmas Truck visited Birmingham City Centre again.
At the Bullring, but for the first time at Rotunda Square.
I previously got it in St Martin's Square around three times before.
Going home for the holidays before 5pm at blue hour, was a bit busy going from High Street to the 24 Hour Route ramps to Moor Street Queensway.

This is the ball they drop in Times Square on New Years (Eve).
You can see it go through it's phase of color changes, though i didn't stay to watch it do it's pretty patterns.
They were showcasing the history of the ball and it's 100 years in Macy's.
It seems like everyone's rushing around on Times Square - apart from the tourists of course and those with both time and a camera on/in their hands.
