I LOVE vintage children's books and knew she had a baby, so I had to send her a reproduction of an old Mother Goose book. I have a huge fondness for The Snowman. I watched it (in movie form) growing up with my family, and the uniqueness of the music, the animation -- has stayed with me this long. I sent some peach preserves in honor of my grandma. She made the best, and always had to have some with every meal. I sent Fels Naptha laundry soap, because I have always wanted to make my own laundry detergent, but never got around to it. Maybe she will? I sent the recipe along as well. The Burt's Bees Orange Essence facial cleanser is a favorite of mine because it is practically edible and it works so well! I thought the little tin magnet was funny -- I probably should have kept it! I sent my favorite candy -- maple nut goodies. And one of my favorite things is the little wool rug basket. I can just imagine cozy balls of yarn tucked inside it.

hoy llegó a mi buzón un lindísimo paquete del swap que organizó Ishtar Olivera! Viene desde Barcelona! Y traía dentro cosas tan tan tan tan tan bonitas! Dos postales hechas con la técnica del scrapbooking, un broche en forma de cupcake y una deliciosa barra de chocolate... del Museo del Chocolate! Y en la etiqueta, el templo de la Sagrada Familia del maravilloso Gaudí! Me encantaron mis presentes... gracias Alba!!!!
This is how behind I am with crowing about all of the lovely things I have received in the mail over the past months. The wonderful handmade treasures you see here were sent to me as part of a summer swap with the lovely Kristen of Plush You and Schmancy Toys fame. It was such a joy to open Kristen's package and marvel over the care and attention she put into preparing it, everything was holiday/sea shore themed! Thank you so much Kristen, I am so happy we were partnered up.
I am hoping to do some more crowing over the next few weeks, I need to take some nice pictures.

Thank you Suvarna (rkpulipaka)! I love my pouches (you really didn't have to make me two!!) and they already have knitting in them. The chocolate isn't going to last much longer and the threads will likely be used to quilt something very very soon. Oh, and I'd been wishing I had some removeable stitch markers recently -- you read my mind! Thank you for a great swap!

i spent spring break in Miami Beach. yah. great idea right?! but i was there with my husband. he was there for work. i did not go near the water! crazies. too many crazies. spent the days in museums and botanical gardens... and nights in fancy hotel restaurants. nice to go on business vacations, huh?
