The man of steel, Superman faces off against another steel (Among other elements) “man”, the villain Metallo; in the subways of Metropolis.

I just had to build something for my Metallo figure, and show off his design allowing Lifelight products. I felt a subway was a good location for the battle, and I’m rather happy with how it turned out. I couldn’t find my dam minifigure camera however (Raah!) so I had to brick build one—a better alternative then leaving Jimmy out!

Enjoy

I’m your superman

Oh yes I am!

I may not be as fast as a shot from a gun

And stoppin’ locomotives ain’t my idea of fun

And I don’t have the magic to fly through the air

I can feel it when you are there

And when you’re near me I’m like someone new

I even feel real bulletproof too

am not super strong I have no super sight

I’m not afraid of being in kryptonite

And I don’t have the magic to fly through the air

I’m your superman

Oh yes I am!

Here's another angle on the "Smallville" barn I uploaded recently.

This one is closer to sunset. The air was really (REALLY) hazy giving the whole scene a surreal glow.

It was one of those times you could look directly at the sun without hurting your eyes, it was that hazy. I guess there must have been some bushfire smoke hanging in the atmosphere.

Take a look at this link for a 3-part video series on how I process my images in Photoshop: www.photographyuncovered.net/superman2.

Some people say to me

They say I don’t have a clue

I’m gonna make them see

There’s something special ’bout you

When you’ve got your arms around me

In the air your love surrounds me

Now I know you’re my superman

You’re my wonderman

Wherever I am

come and save me

Oh my superman

This ain’t no make believe

This fantasy is for real

Ain’t talking imagination

He sweeps me of my feet

Everything you do to me is supernatural

I need you beside Me

Need to be in your world

This is the first in a series of photos that show two extremely different interpretations of the same DC Comics character.

The figure on the left is Superman from the Fisher-Price DC Super Friends line of Little People toys, released in 2011.

The figure on the right is Superman from the Total Justice line of action figures, released in 1996. The long hair is based on Superman in the comic books of that time. The over-muscled sculpting and "ready for action" pose of the figure is consistent with other late 90s action figures.

I am a big fan of Alex Ross, the artist who brought many of my favorite DC comics heroes to life. I wanted to do a photo set in the style of Ross' paintings. I think these turned out pretty cool and hope to do more. Oh yeah, I'm a cosplay geek!

There is hardly an intersection in Manhattan that isn't interesting, often the buildings are a combination of old and new, and somehow that works so well in NYC. I can't remember this intersection but it is somewhere in midtown Manhattan....

Want to have some fun shopping...take a look at this on original full size, lots going on..:-))

This is an amazing piece! Way to rich for my blood though!

(Comment if you favorite please!)

Apparently, Superman had his flying license revoked after a bender one night with Aquaman and the Wonder Twins. He must now take public transportation between crime-fighting stops.

Here, he's seen demonstrating to a fellow commuter how the evil Dr. FrozenFingers unleashes his "Ice Ray" beam.

I forgot to plug him. Check out Confessions of a Superhero.

Composite Superman has now been my current most favourite superman villian, purely because of how awesome he is! (and maybe a bit of robot chicken did something to help that) i was actually surprise lego didn't took a gamble and made him. tho to be granted i don't think they would know how to tackle the new hair helmet mold.

So, what does my fig have new to the table of parts? the first ever duel molded lego torso! Cause i figured if lego can do arms and legs in duel molding, why not heads or torsos (maybe for a future twoface? ;) ) the first one is more of a classic comics style superman and the second (tho not really different) has batman in a more modern approach. i think the classic one still looks cool

TBH i actually tried to make a real composite superman with real lego parts and a pair of pliers (if i find it i will show ya) and it turns out it is ALMOST possible to make a purist composite superman. Key is using the harley quin legs (weither red and black for the modern or red and blue for the classic) and if you have the parts like a pair of duel molded red and blue boots and black and gray boots, then basically you made the legs of composite superman

What's that you say? I already did him? Well yeah, I did, but not in enough detail. I completely neglected to tell the story of his debut as Superman, or when he found out he was different. There's not much to the minifig, so we'll ignore that. I'm not sure how far I'll go, as the original bio kinda covers the more recent history. As always, please lemme know what you think :D

Superman

As Clark Kent grew up on the family farm, he began to notice he was different. He could run faster than a train, leap over the barn, and see and hear things several miles away. He was stronger than his siblings, John and Mary. Jonathan and Martha agreed it was time to tell him of his heritage, how they had found him in a capsule in their field (they left out the part where Jonathan accidentally shot his birth mother). Naturally, Clark was taken aback by this revelation. He had always known he was different, that he didn't quite fit in. Now he knew why.

This was in 1913, the year before the outbreak of World war I. Although Clark wanted to use his powers to help people, his parents were able to persuade him to stay on the farm, for fear of what would happen to him if the world found out about his existence. However, once the war ended, Clark was able to convince his parents that he could use his powers to help people, and that it was inhuman not to. Now aged 19, Clark was convinced that he could help people. So, Martha made him a suit, using the blanket he was found in, and the symbol that was emblazoned on his ships hull. Although they didn't know what it meant, Clark felt a connection to it. It was only later that he found out its true meaning.

So, Clark used his powers to help people. He started with his hometown of Smallville, and worked his way up to Metropolis, where he one day wished to live. He started with minor crimes, before working his way up to bigger issues. There was a newspaper article about his antics every week, written by the up and coming journalist, Lois Lane, who Clark was quite fond of. Everything was going well, until 1938, when news of war once again reared its ugly head. In Europe, this war was spreading like the plague. Although he desperately wanted to help, he had agreed with his parents that it was for the best for him to stay out of international conflict, and away from war.

This was until a stray Japanese Bomber hit the farm, killing his parents. Thankfully, his brother and sister had moved away to begin their own lives in the newly built city of Metropolis. Devastated by his parents death, Clark swore revenge, and took to the skies, his destination: The nearest military sign-up site. He became a soldier, providing critical support to US troops in the pacific war. It was during this time that he met others like him. Wonder woman and Shazam. Like him, they knew they couldn't just stand by and let the world go to ruin. So they fought. For freedom.

Once the war was over, the trio returned to the United States. Together, they formed the Justice society of America, alongside many others. They became Americas first super human team, and fought against many terrible foes. The society was flourishing, until their first tragedy: The death of Kent Nelson. Subsequently, Alan Scott left the league to find his replacement, and the league began to fracture. But not for long.

Over time, more heroes joined the team, and the Justice society of America evolved into the Justice league of America. As more and more members joined, the JLA went worldwide, becoming simply, The Justice league. Everything was going well. Until the invasion of the new god Darkseid in 1999, which brought with it the Millennium war.

He couldn't find a phone booth to change in.

I've always wanted to use Martian Manhunter legs for Superman. However, the universe did not agree, leaving me with the loosest legs possible, so loose that they do not actually stay on the torso.

Discovering his powers later in life, he sometimes has difficulty controlling them, hence the helmet, gloves and headset.

Anyway, thanks to Kiteman, I was able to give Superman a decent looking helmet.
