Our college summer interns had a chance to tour the printing facility that prints/distributes our monthly publication. They had a lot of fun learning what goes on behind the scenes!
The 2020 interns met in the Sculpture Garden at the Baltimore Museum of Art for a staggered, socially distanced meet and greet with parents, mentors, writing coaches, and workplace supervisors.

Aayushmanbhava is the first telephone helpline and outreach service for women and children of remote and tribal areas to access Govt. health care services.

With safety as a top priority at CHS, Emma V., environmental compliance intern, signs the banner to take the pledge to keep “eyes on the road, not your phone.” The banner is hanging in the cafeteria at the headquarter office.
Engineering intern Joshua P., right, inspects the oil stripper with shift manager Jim F. at the Mankato, Minn. soybean processing plant. The oil stripper was later cut in half and removed as part of the plant shutdown where old equipment was repaired or replaced with new, and it needed to be inspected to make sure it could be worked on safely with little to no risk of fire or falling objects.

This picture is of me talking to a CHS customer. We are in an alfalfa field talking about the health of the plants. The alfalfa seed in this particular field was sold from CHS in Wausa, Neb. As you can see this field is short in height, due to the dry weather in between the second and third cuttings.

CHS Internships provide you with many different opportunities such as getting to write and record the radio ads to get the word out to your community about CHS services and products.
Ryan has spent the summer learning agronomy and operations, with an emphasize on fertilizer. Learning what mixtures and products will help the farmer reach maximum yield has been very enjoyable for Ryan. Pictured is Ryan with his fellow intern as they take a closer look at the dry fertilizer.

Representing CHS at Wisconsin Farm Technology Days CHS Tent. It was a great experience to get out and connect with those interested in the latest technological developments in production agriculture.
In June I checked a corn field south of the Wykoff location. The field a good view of the grain facilities at the Wykoff location in the top left of the photo.
Chad, front and center, has learned and promoted the promise of safety. Throughout his internship, Chad has been cheered on by his co-workers for his superb safety awareness. Chad believes in ‘Safety from the Start’.
Caleb worked hard to learn the needs of the farmer, specializing in fertilizer. Caleb has had fun with his fellow intern, and has had many exciting opportunities this summer. Pictured is Caleb and Ryan who have climbed part of the dry fertilizer tower. Good thing for the safety rails and the precautions CHS takes, because the interns sure enjoy working on the edge.
In June I was checking the weed pressure in a bean field in Fillmore, Minn. As I was walking the field, a bald eagle flew out from a row a beans. The eagle is visible in the middle of the photo.

Cole B. wants to make a difference to farmers from the community he grew up in. He specialized in agronomy sales at CHS Northern Plains, where he learned sales techniques and the best products for the farmers’ needs. Pictured center, Cole is beginning a root dig to showcase seed and products at a recent plot day.
On Aug 1 I assisted Paul Frein in putting up safety stickers on Wykoff's anhydrous ammonia tank. Labeling is very important with hazardous materials.

Part of my internship role with CHS Stewardship is connecting and working beside CHS employees at the CHS Giving Garden. CHS volunteers work together through the summer in efforts to help our garden grow fresh produce for our local community social service agency, Neighbors Inc.

Engineering intern Joshua takes a quick break to smile at the camera in full personal protective equipment while watching the monthly safety video regarding ladder safety. Watching a new one each month helps him stay safe, even with all the hazards in the plant.
For CHS Days of Service, Feed My Starving Children brought in supplies for IGH/Eagan employees to participate in a mobile pack to assemble MannaPacks. The MannaPack contain vitamins, dehydrated vegetables, rice, and soy nuggets. In just the morning session, 103 employees packed enough food to feed 79 children for an entire year! Since the soy was processed at CHS PFI’s Hutchinson, Kans. facility, it is only fitting that PFI won the friendly competition to pack the most boxes!Pictured: Emma V., environmental compliance intern in PFI, standing with her winning “trophy” (FMSC mug) next to a full pallet of boxes containing MannaPacks.
