This is Judo Man's daughter, Hino chan, and her friend Haruka (they do ballet together, and their first performance EVER is on Saturday, but I can't go. Boo!) Judo Man has two kids, Hino and Hotaka; Hii-chan is five and Ho-kun is coming slowly up on three.
I really liked the detail of this shot, but wasn't sure if I should make Day 8 be about Lilah as she is three months-old today. So I uploaded both. My Lilah photo is just a bonus for today. She sure did love being outside today. It's a little sad now that she's old enough to enjoy being outdoors (or rather aware of it?) it's getting colder. I'm getting excited to show her snow, though!
Not a great image but here for sentimental reasons. The Incredible String Band in a late incarnation about 1973 at Sussex University.
This was what we came home with. We caught our limit of 5 largemouth bass per line. The stringer was pretty heavy.
If you know your Simpson connectors, then you might recognize that as an upside down hurricane clip for a roof rafter. The stringers hang down pretty far below the header (which serves as the first step riser) so I had to get creative.

Well, it's been a long old time of it but this custom 8 string guitar is about to be boxed up and sent off. :-)
Cheryl Plemons' Grandmother and Great Grandmother made this string quilt from clothes and backed with a curtain.
Caught this young lady trying to depart with the string from our verandah blind this morning. She is obviously collecting nesting materials and didn't realise this was attached at the other end.
We watched her for ages, gathering lengths of the string in her beak and trying to fly off with it, only to crash to the ground again. Can't count the number of times she did this. Talk about tenacity !
Eventually, she flew off, so I quickly nipped out, hid THAT string and replaced it with short lengths of other more appropriate garden string.
Apologies for the poor quality of these piccs, but I took them through our kitchen door window. Difficult to focus.
