This little strip mall was built to be destroyed - I hope in a few years they'll tear it down and build something much better. I do like the little corner tower, but Rite Aid doesn't use any of the other windows. Missed opportunity. 13th & U NW, Washington, DC.
Rezk Medical Supplies and Milo Williams Jewelers, 112 and 114 South Main Street, Butler, Pennsylvania. Alas, according to Google Milo Williams Jewelers has closed.

“The Sopranos” celebrated the 25th anniversary of the show’s debut on HBO on January 10, 1999. To honor this series which countless people have watched (and binge watched), we are highlighting the historic Mulberry Street Bar in Little Italy 🇮🇹 of Manhattan, where scenes from “The Sopranos” featuring the interior of the Averna Social Club were filmed. Mulberry Street Bar was certainly a wonderful choice as it retains much of its original interior since it opened in 1908 including the towering ornate wooden back bar which is inset with mirrors as well as a pressed tin ceiling and inlaid tile floor. In the front window of the bar, you can even a photo taken during the filming of the series. The cast and crew members of “The Sopranos” celebrated the show’s 25th anniversary by gathering for a family dinner at Da Nico, a family-owned Italian restaurant on Mulberry Street located down the street from Mulberry Street Bar. We are not sure if they also stopped by the bar but if you would like to go on your own nostalgia tour of filming locations be sure to stop by and toast their anniversary.
Salem had been on our must see list for ages. We finally made it there, on a very cold, very wet, miserable Monday morning. It was the only rain on our trip. We had some things we wanted to see, and they were closed on this day. We felt cursed but made the most of it. We wanted to see some of the historical areas but except for a memorial in the local cemetery there wasn't much. Anything related to the witch trials is long gone. What Salem did have was a bunch of tacky souvenir, occult, mysticism, and horror shops - it was fascinating in a bizarre way. There was also a large display of mastheads - the wooden figures of lovely women on the front of sailing ships - all over town. My wife checked out several shops, I stood outside people watching - it was amazing how many people were dressed as witches or in period costumes - even in the rain.
I took these photos in late September 2023.

Storefront of Milk Shop, a clothing store in Ottawa, about three weeks before the 2025 Canadian federal election.
Guerra Paint & Pigment 🎨 is a very unique family-owned shop which was founded in 1986 and is well known among artists for its huge selection of water based single pigment concentrates made in small batches “the old fashioned way” in ceramic mills. The husband and wife owners Jody Bretnall & Seren Morey had to close their wonderful storefront location on East 13th Street in the East Village (as seen in our photo) in 2022 after the new landlord of the building tripled their rent. Thankfully they were able to consolidate their business to their Williamsburg, Brooklyn warehouse and continue to provide their vast selection of paint pigment choices including many historical, rare and extinct colors collected by founder Art Guerra who passed away in 2021. We really miss seeing this shop and its wall of colors, which always brightened our day.
Let us know if you have purchased pigments and paint-making supplies from this lovely shop as we recently met an artist in South Florida at an art fair who told us that he gets all his pigments from the shop.

I just passed by this while walking around and was amazed by the awesome interiors. I was not surprised to later find that "Furniture was designed and will be installed by students at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design." For more check out the Chinatown Blog or the storefront library's own website.
