MONTANA DE ORO STATE PARK, CA - I'd rather shoot in gloomy weather than sunny weather any day. A vertorama of two frames taken at Spooner's Cove in Montana de Oro State Park.

This Spoon Chrysanthemum is actually a four image focus stack processed in Helicon Focus and Lightroom.
Did this for a project. These are select spoons from my wife's spoon collection from all of her trips. Some are from before we met, some from after.
Another from the British Wildlife Centre. I just loved watching the fox's - I believe it was peanut butter at the end of the spoon!
Thanks for your time

My second picture is of baby spoons that my Great Grandma used when she was a baby. She lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They are from the early 1900's. These spoons have been in my family for a very long time.
The reflections are of a very nice cross-beamed ceiling. I liked how it looked. The nearby attendant thought I was a little strange though...
“THIS weeping willow!
Why do you not plant a few
For the millions of children not yet born,
As well as for us?
Are they not non-existent, or cells asleep
Without mind?
Or do they come to earth, their birth
Rupturing the memory of previous being?
Answer!
The field of unexplored intuition is yours.
But in any case why not plant willows for them,
As well as for us?”

These spoons were lying on the table, Michael Vogt spotted the reflection of the conservatory roof, arranged them like this and borrowed my iPhone 4 to take the photo :)
This was the collection of spoons on my desk at work.
I saw them and thought it looked like a family of spoons. So I've given them a back story.
It's the typical family with a mum, dad and two kids (boy and girl)
The spoon to the far left is the brother spoon of the wife. He lives in the garage as his wife kicked him out and left him with nothing. He also reently lost his job due to a DUI where he lost his licence. He's going through a rough time but the kids like him and he's helping around the house. The wife says he'll be back on his feet in a few months but the dad has his doubts.
The brother spoon ends up saving the kids during a home invasion by a fork while the parents were at the Country Club's Xmas party. The brother ends up finding true love with the female police spoon who was first to respond to the 911 call.
Cropped and very grainy, but it's the only shot I got of Spooner, jeans rolled up and ankle-deep in the muck, shoes in one hand and camera in the other, snapping away. It's the last photo I'm posting of Another Place, I promise. Let me know which one(s) of the 10 you like best.
I was really impressed with Spoon's performance at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago Thursday night. They've really come into their own as a band. I remember seeing Spoon at, I believe, the Randolph Street Festival about nine or ten years ago when they were unknown and pretty much just starting out. It's nice to see them have such success!

This is a blown up detail pf a photo I uploaded to this site years ago.
From The Spoon River Anthology:
The Hill
WHERE are Elmer, Herman, bert, Tom, and Charley,
The weak of will, the strong of arm, the clown, the boozer, the fighter?
All, all, are sleeping on the hill.
One passed in a fever,
One was burned in a mine,
One was killed in a brawl,
One died in jail,
One fell from a bridge toiling for children and wife--
All, all are sleeping, sleeping, sleeping on the hill.
The idea of finding colorful spoons and placing colorful things in them and then taking a photograph of them is simply delightful. I will smile all day because of the sheer whimsy of this Our Daily Challenge. I have been so downhearted of feeling crummy for two weeks, and all the scary news. This changed my whole attitude. Thank you Cathy.scola
