Horrible weather out today so Spiderman was the only willing model I could find, lit by two Nikon SB700's, one to camera right at the two o'clock position and one to camera left at the ten o'clock position and fitted with a blue gel, both triggered by Pocket Wizards.
Just about the easiest Spiderman cake ever! Check out my blog if you want to know how to make it and many other of my cakes.

I bought him just for the Spiderman costume. It looks removeable, and I wanted Chris Redfield to try it out.
Spiderman birthday cake exploading out of the New York Skyline, complete with spiders and web. Spiderman modelled from Sugar Paste and even managed to decorate him with webs, carefully drawn on by hand with edible pen....including the spider on his chest
Using the PEZ head on this He-Man figure seemd like a good idea at the time.
Maybe, sometimes things just have to be done before

Oh well, here he is in all his finished glory......
Spiderman is a big hit at the minute. This is the second 2D one I've had to do in as many months, and the 3rd overall. Got to love the colours. Royal icing runout spiderman mask with fondant lettering and spiders,
I must admit that I didn't really enjoy making this one. Not feeling too healthy today and all I wanted to do was lie down but this is needed for tomorrow so I had to just get on with it. Luckily I had already made Spiderman but I cut back on the design of cake to enable me to finish a bit quicker than I would have otherwise. Don't ask me why the sky is orange or why there is a moon - it just felt right at the time.... :-)
