Well I guess it's kinda obvious he isn't much of a puppy. His name is Snyder and he is a Shepard Mix we have had him for about 9 years. He normally doesn't like his photo taken, runs off and hides when he see's my camera, but tonight he was being very cooperative.

Enlisted on May 8, 1864 in Ottawa, Illinois. Discharged October 15, 1864 in Springfield, Illinois. He was a carpenter by trade. He stayed at Leavenworth National Soldiers Home from 1909-1919.

Civil War Veteran Had Been In
Kansas Forty-Five Years.

Andrew Chauncey Snyder died at 12:08 today at his home, 1310 South Evergreen avenue. Mr. Snyder was born near Waltham, LaSalle county, Illinois, July 16, 1846, and married Laura Ruth Williams in Wilmington, Ill., in 1877. The family moved from Illinois to San Antonio, Tex., and came to Kansas in 1880 and lived in Allen county until March 1903, when the family moved to the present residence.
Nine children were born to this union, Mr. Snyder is survived by his wife, Laura Ruth Snyder, three daughters and two sons, thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The daughters are Mrs. Bert Fulwider of San Francisco, Mrs. John M. Croft of Topeka and Miss Josie Snyder of the home address. The sons are C. E. Snyder and Ben Snyder of Chanute. Two nephews and two nieces also survive and are the only other living blood relatives. Mrs. Clarence Johnson of Arkansas City and Mrs. Sam Jackson of Lawrence. Chauncey Burtiss and Walter Burtiss of Humboldt.
Mr. Snyder was an old soldier, enlisting from Illinois in Co. I, 138th regiment, Illinois infantry.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3 o’clock from the home conducted by Rev. W. M. Martin of the First Baptist church.
