Too bad it's too big for the town scale I prefer nowadays ... But I still like it.
RC 701 sits in the morning cold at Raritan Central's main yard. Originally starting its life on the UP, this unit visited a few other railroads before landing here.

My footwork was all over the place on that slanty rock, I think that is why it looks a bit like an Orb within an Orb. Ah well...each Orb is certainly unique!
This area is the one of my favorite place in KUIS. The ceiling is slanting. So I adjusted the angle to the ceiling.
I've been meaning to get a photo of this for ages, finally had my camera on me at the right moment.

Photoshop
° Stretched it for 8.75% horizontally for more impact.
° Tuned down the colour saturation and used gradient to have that only on the road in front.
° High pass sharpening with mask ( to mask out the lights, always be careful and look closely what high pass sharpning does to light sources ).
About
Went down to a place that I shot a loooong time ago when I was still handling that 400D and the Sigma 10-20mm. Love the grunge-ness of this place.
Used HDR just to bring out the needed details, a single shot looks good but not like this.
Used Tungsten white balance, AWB looked too yellow but custom balance using a shot of the white wall made everything look blue, which sure is not what we see. Tungsten still looks quite yellow, but that is also what the human eye sees. Manually dialing in a colour temperature would perhaps work even better.
