This was what Ralphs looked like four days ago. There wasn't this mad dash to grab everything perishable off the shelves. We were not experiencing a zombie apocalypse, nor a nuclear threat where everyone had to stock their bomb shelters at the last minute. The idea, of course, is to buy as much as one needs for a couple of weeks so they don't have to venture out every day, or every other day for groceries. Yes, this panic buying did just that for most of us, myself included. And to expose myself to any possible virus just to make sure I have not just enough food but enough toilet paper is counter-productive to dealing with this crisis. And, I still haven't found any place where I can buy a mask or rubber gloves to wear when I do have to go out.

Dairy Farmers Of Canada – You’ve Never Tasted Scalloped Potatoes Like These

Hey everyone: party time! Quick – think of a snack! Chips, maybe? Pop? Hot dogs? Nope – at our house we serve scalloped potatoes! And you can bet we have more fun with our skim milk powder, potatoes, and 8-cup casserole dish than you kids ever will with your beatnik weenie roasts and your precious beer.

Breakfast of Champions, and you might ask- "Champion of WHAT?". I thought about that, and the only thing I could come up with is "Champion of Time Wasting for My Flickr Obsession".

This is my usual breakfast fare, and I never skip breakfast. I mix the dry ingredients the night before, then add skim milk and fruit the next morning. Once it's ready to eat, I'm ready to flickr!

i loves my weetbix and i loves them with cold milk. so many people are horrified at this thought. hot milk makes them go all gluggy. the frozen raspberries are to replace the sugar that i am avoiding and they get a lovely milky frosting. it is lucky i am a creature of habit who prefers things to be fairly static - i have been having this for breakfast every day lately.

My supermarket has a 13 oz size, so after all the flickring about it, I had to try it. Why didn't I try it sooner! Yum!!

I learned this trick for keeping the blender top from exploding off from Ina Garten's show. Take out the plastic cup in the middle of the lid, then cover the hole with a dishtowel. Steam can still escape, and soup stays in the blender.

In early times the dairy items were sometimes situated in the laundry. A separator on a stand was used to separate the cream from the milk. The milk was placed in the upper bowl, the handle was turned and the milk flowed through the various parts prior to the cream coming out one spout and the skim milk out the other. On the farms the skim milk was often fed to the pigs and excess cream placed in the cream can to be collected by a carrier. Sometimes the house wife made the cream into butter and sold any excess for her little income.

Thoroughbred filly Skim Milk walked off the track after a race. Northern Dancer is both her great grandfather and great great grandfather.

i have no memory of drinking milk out of a glass container as a child... i'm so excited...

Every morning I simmer whole grain steel cut oats in skim milk. I add berries...walnuts...flax seed oil and a teaspoon of maple syrup. I took some of these shots in sunlight.
