...in the InterContinental Bangkok hotel. This ends my series of interior shots taken in Bangkok, Thailand.

It was the last weekend of winter, and my sister and I decided to visit the nearby arboretum to see what we could see. Surprisingly, this last weekend was rather cold and windy, which made it really feel like... well... winter! Brrr!

But the arboretum was already in spring mode, and the two Canada Geese were foraging in our favorite sitting area, along with a squirrel who scampered off as we approached (can you spot it?).

Once seated, we saw where someone had scattered cracked corn all over the ground, which explained the geese and that squirrel foraging in the sitting area.

Crathes Castle (pronounced Crath-es) is a 16th-century castle near Banchory in the Aberdeenshire region of Scotland. This harled castle was built by the Burnetts of Leys and was held in that family for almost 400 years. The castle and grounds are owned and managed by the National Trust for Scotland and are open to the public. Crathes sits on land given as a gift to the Burnett of Leys family by King Robert the Bruce in 1323 In the 14th and 15th century the Burnett of Leys built a fortress of timbers on an island they made in the middle of a nearby bog. This method of fortification, known as a crannog, was common in the Late Middle Ages. Construction of the current tower house of Crathes Castle was begun in 1553 but delayed several times during its construction due to political problems during the reign of Mary, Queen of Scots. It was completed in 1596 by Alexander Burnett of Leys, and an additional wing added in the 18th century. Alexander Burnett, who completed the construction of Crathes, began a new project, the early 17th-century reconstruction of nearby Muchalls Castle. That endeavour was completed by his son, Sir Thomas Burnett. Crathes Castle served as the ancestral seat of the Burnetts of Leys until given to the National Trust for Scotland by the 13th Baronet of Leys, Sir James Burnett in 1951. A fire damaged portions of the castle (in particular the Queen Anne wing) in 1966. Another historically important structure in this region linked to the Burnett of Leys family is Monboddo House. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crathes_Castle

Bappy Bench Monday, Folks! i wonder how that got started anyway. You'd think it would be

"Macro Monday" or something, wouldn't you? Anyway, here's a shot of pretty Ames Park on the Halifax River in Ormond Beach, Florida. Some days are just better than others, and this one was a pretty one.

This image titled Empty Bus Stop And Morning Light, was taken on the View from my sightseeing on road.

If you're looking for some peace and quiet here's a nice place to go. This wooded trail leading to the Children's Garden has several places where you can sit, relax and just enjoy the peaceful sights and sounds all around you.

I always seem to be excited about what I might find around the next bend, but maybe one day I'll take the time just sit and enjoy the peace and quiet.

I rode my AiPAS E-bike from our house to UT Gardens in Downtown Knoxville.

This was my first time visiting the botanical gardens. Took photos with the Sony mirrorless camera and my iPhone. Photographed blooming flowers, sculptures, gazebos, archways and water features.

It's definitely worth a visit; if you're in Knoxville. Open to the public year-round! I will certainly be back for future visits.

Some said photography is just extension of your love with your subjects. You love wild life, nature, landscape, people and therefore you shoot wildlife, landscape and portrait photography.

Or photography is trying to realize some tall mission such as revealing the social reality like what is done in documentary photography.

Some also said photography is art of seeing. The joy of photography is coming from the fact that you will be able to see the world in a fresh and new way everyday.

Where do you find your joy of photography?

This is my fun shot taken with my X10 inside the neighborhood community centre and this may not be a good illustration of what is mentioned here.

This is the place we mean when we say to our guest, "Would you like to sit in the garden?" We like to spend time outside and so appreciate having a convenient outdoor 'room'.

Rosa 'Veilchenblau' is still in bloom in this shot (it is pretty much ending now). We have various potted plants we can more around to display while in flower, and we enjoy mixing and matching their various pots & foliage color/textures.

When we moved into this old house, this area had been used to store junk and was a real mess. We managed to get the concrete cleaned and enjoy the patina of this old paved surface. The little bits of 'weeds' that populate the cracks are in fact Viola riviana, which sports cherry little lavender-blue flowers in the spring and again in fall. It self-seeds with abandon (and our encouragement). Often is it joined by Cymbalaria muralis, or Kenilworth Ivy, another charming self-sower.

Continuing my Southern Arizona Adventure 2024 with a stop in Patagonia Arizona. This is stage 5 of 9. I met up with my best friend from high school who has retired here because of the birding. I stayed at the Stage Stop Inn and we ate at Velvet Elvis Restaurant.

stagestoppatagonia.com/about-us/

The Stage Stop Inn was originally built in 1969 by local ranchers Anne and Floyd Stradling. It stands near the site of the Patagonia stop on a branch of the famous Butterfield Stage Line. In 1882 the old stage line was replaced by the New Mexico & Arizona rail line, which connected Nogales, Mexico with the main Southern Pacific line in Benson, AZ.

Anne and Floyd were friends of John Wayne, and they built the Inn in part to accomodate cast and crew filming in the high desert around Patagonia. Many Westerns were filmed in this region. Among them are Red River, Rio Lobo, Rio Bravo, Young Guns and Tombstone. The San Rafael Valley, located just 11 miles away served as a location in the filming of Oklahoma. The hotel also provided comfortable lodging for visitors to Anne Stradling’s famous Museum of the Horse, which was relocated to Ruidoso, New Mexico after Anne’s death.

The town of Patagonia rests between the majestic Santa Rita and Patagonia Mountains at the confluence of Harshaw and Sonoita Creeks. Set among rich foothills and valleys at 4,000 feet, Patagonia enjoys an excellent climate. During summers the daytime temperatures are normally 10 to 20 degrees cooler than Tucson and Phoenix, and nights are cool and refreshing. Many artists and authors make Patagonia home, contributing to our vibrant cultural community. Guests come from far and wide for birding, hiking, cycling, hunting and just plain kickin’ back. We are centrally located between Southeast Arizona’s growing wine region, only 12 miles east, and Patagonia Lake State Park, just 7 miles west.

stagestoppatagonia.com/

The Stage Stop Inn is located in Patagonia, Arizona, one hour southeast of Tucson. Situated in the heart of Arizona’s Mountain Empire, the Stage Stop is a convenient home base while visiting Southeast Arizona. Area attractions include the Patagonia-Sonoita Creek Nature Conservancy, Lake Patagonia, Parker Canyon Lake, wineries in Elgin and Sonoita, and many hiking and biking trails. Patagonia is an Arizona Trail Gateway Community, resting between sections 3 and 4 of the Trail. Old mining ghost towns and working ranches populate the mountains and valleys surrounding Patagonia. Birders come from all over the world in the Spring and Fall to see hundreds of rare species migrating through Patagonia. Hunters and fisherman enjoy the late Fall and winter season, and clear skies, moderate temperatures and amazing scenery attract hikers and bikers year round.

This is a shot of one of the ramps at the Atlanta airport. It was taken from the sitting area off the D concourse food court. The shot was taken through a roll-down shade composed of black dots. The shade is used to diffuse direct sunlight, which shines through this window in the afternoon. The dots made for an interesting composition IMHO. At the least, it is something different.
