Intricate grillwork over the entrance of the Robert Simpson Co. Department Store on Ste. Catherine St. in Montreal. Simpson's operated on the site from 1929 to 1989, when the company was folded into the Hudson Bay Co. Quebec-based Simons now occupies the store.

Homer Simpson feito de papel. Aproximadamente 24 centímetros de altura. Feito em julho de 2012. Estes foram os materiais que utilizei para fazê-lo.

My friends and I took 6 1/2 hours to put this monstrosity together. It's got more than 2,500 pieces. It's the best.

Yes, it seems I enjoy drawing. And I'm sorry if you don't follow me for this sort of thing. However, I've drawn the Simpsons quite a bit and am a fan of them, but the thought to upload an attempt to Flickr never really crossed my mind. Until now! Here is the little bratty 10-year old himself, Bart Simpson, with an expression like he was 'caught in the act'. Whilst I did copy from an image it was drawn freehand, and I think I've done quite well. I suppose I should also say that Bart was created by Matt Groening, so this image isn't taken down for copyright infringement!

(2019) Screen-grabs from Treehouse of Horror IV, and restored them to a cleaner format as references:

1. Homer in Self Portrait (1889) by Vincent Van Gogh

2. Maggie in "The Persistence of Memory" (1931) by Dali

3. Homer chasing Bart in "Ascending and Descending" (1960) by M.C. Escher

4. Homer in "Death of Marat" (1793) by Jacques-Louis David

5. Lisa in "the Scream" (1893) by Edvard Munch

6. Lisa in a Cubism style painting

7. Bart in "the Son of Man" by René Magritte

One of my favourite pictures from PNG. A picture of Simpon's Harbour taken from near Navunaram. You can see Tavurvur (the volcano) smoking. The piece of land you see in the water is Matupit.

Marge, Bart, Maggie, Lisa and Homer of course!

The former Gorleston lifeboat Elizabeth Simpson, pictured in the 1970s when she was being used as a trip boat on the Norfolk Broads.

Launched on the 23rd October 1889, the Elizabeth Simpson was one of the private lifeboats operated by the Ranger’s Beach Company for the Gorleston Volunteer Lifeboat Association. Built by the Beeching brothers, she was funded by the donation of £500 by a Miss Elizabeth Simpson Stone who had witnessed the tragic capsize of the lifeboat Refuge in 1888. Originally powered by oar and sail, the Elizabeth Simpson was motorized in 1926 and, with earnings from salvage dwindling, began to run sea trips for visitors during the summer months. The trips were advertised with the slogan “Help us in summer to save drowning men in winter“. Her last launch as a lifeboat was in February 1938, having given 50 years of service during which time she had saved over 400 lives.

The Elizabeth Simpson was 47 ft in length with a 13 ft beam and, as a trip boat, was licensed to carry up to 90 passengers. Although a canopy offered some protection from the weather, she didn’t have the onboard facilities which the Queen of the Broads offered, but was still very popular with visitors and continued to carry passengers on the Broads until the 1990s.

The last reference that I can find for her suggests that she is now lying in a garden somewhere in North Norfolk awaiting restoration.

Thomas Henry Simpson was a Detroit industrialist who died from pernicious anemia. In his memory, his widow Catherine MacDonald Simpson donated this Albert Kahn-designed building, built in 1927.

This Wallace Anderson sculpture is dedicated in honour of the valour and compassion of the Australian soldier. It embodies John Simpson Kirkpatrick, a stretcher bearer who used a donkey to expedite his work. Simpson and his donkey, Duffy, worked alone day and night, carrying the wounded to dressing stations and water to the frontline.

I have used this photograph to depict an excerpt from the poem, "Simpson & His Donkey" by David Smith White, which you can see more clearly when Viewed On Black
