One loaf of requires 1.5 cups of warm water. Dump it in a non-reactive bowl and add your yeast. I like to add a gloop of honey so the little guys can have something good for their last meal.

Baking the loaf in a dutch oven does a few things- it lets you maintain a steady, high, and even temperature, and lets the bread bake in a humid environment- both these conditions are important for a good oven rise. When the half hour is over, remove the lid and let it bake for 15 more minutes to let the top brown.
