Signal Hill's oil fields have been pumping oil since the 1920's, and pumping cash into the coffers of the tiny southern California city of Signal Hill, completelty surrounded by the sprawling city of Long Beach. There are no homes close to this area on the Northern slope, but these flowers have 'mysteriously' spread across the hillside.
