Presumably the signal box dates from 1904 when the 2nd platform was added, together with the passing loop and level crossing gates.
Blue Anchor is the 2nd station out of Minehead on the West Somerset Railway.
The old Signal Frame is fenced off on the platform for tourists to look at. For your information, red levers controlled signals, black levers would control points and blue levers operated locking bars on the points. If there was a white lever, it would have been placed there as a spare for future use. 21 May 2009
This little chap was signalling the onset of Sping with outbursts of loud birdsong & sat quite happily posing for his picture to be taken.
One of nature's most wonderful moments!
