Pre-Tropical storm Debby Siesta Key Beach

Sarasota Day is now August 25th since we did all things Sarasota today. First off, the beach then a trip to the Ringling Museum of Art... ALL the things worth doing in Sarasota. Also, props to Caitlin for not slanting the horizon line.

Siesta Key, FL -June 26, 2010

Hands Across the Sand is a worldwide movement made of people of all walks of life and crosses political affiliations. This movement is not about politics; it is about protection of our coastal economies, oceans, marine wildlife, and fishing industry. Let us share our knowledge, energies and passion for protecting all of the above from the devastating effects of oil drilling.

On June 26, 2010 people from across the world in over 700 locations joined hands to say no to offshore oil drilling and yes to clean energy and renewables.

The day's cloudy start was probably not a problem for these joggers and volleyball players. Didn't take too long for the sun to start blazing, however.

Don't just hold your dreams and aspirations inside of you. Give them sunlight of the day, and make your dreams come true. My motto of life is "Life is too short to be unhappy." :)

There's no sun to reflect off Siesta Key's white, crushed quartz sand on this early-morning walk.
