Taken by Rosanne Ballou, Delphos. The men were shocking the oats (stacking the piles) to be but through the thresher later.
Our efforts to add cherries to our orchard have been mixed at best, with most of our trees holding steady in a state of being not much more than dead sticks. We also somehow managed to screw up our records of what kinds we planted where so we have no idea what any of them are. One of the four is turning into a recognizable tree, but the other three are... less so. And so it's sort of hilarious how one of them, still just waist-high and no more sturdy than the day it was planted several years ago, has become a densely covered thicket of blossoms this spring. Just imagine how impressive this thing would be if it could get its shit together and actually grow.
