While feeding on the elk carcas another Coyote approaches in hopes of being accepted to feed. Unfortunately, the coyote who was there first wasn't going to have anything to do with sharing what scraps were left.

This image was taken two days after the image to the right. It's amazing how quickly a carcas is consumed.

My favorite Somo River backwater is turtle heaven - so many of these little Painted turtles all over stumps, logs and the shoreline itself. These two caught my attention early, but it wasn't until I was heading out that I managed to get the boat in front of them. Miracle they didn't spook! They're only 4 or 5 inches long and so cute and surprisingly good climbers.

I wish the hummingbirds would share like these two! Just as I’m about to take a photo, a rival bird swoops in to chase the other off.

Another shot from the Bauer Park Community Gardens. Almost every patch has sunflowers, which are peaking at the moment.

"When we die and leave this earth we can take nothing of what we have received, on the contrary what we have given or shared with others.

Let’s give and share with others what we have, even if it’s just a beautiful word or a smile"

A tree not far from our house that the birds appreciate long into the winter.

The deer didn't seem to mind sharing their food with the skunk, and the skunk behaved for a change, they all ate together for quite a while withoug incident. Notice the little male fawn is losing his spots.

I am so blessed to be able to see the deer and fawns right in my own backyard.
