A momentous occasion as the first photo in this poster is also (as far as I know) the first photo taken with my DSLR to make it into explore. It only took a year and a half :-)

At the planting of some 400 trees at Lough Dan, Co. Wicklow, by various scout groups to mark the centenary of the 1916 Easter Rising.
even in the end, he still wanted to play tennis. maybe because he thought by playing he could cheer us up, as always. this is the last pic we have of our sweet boy. the vet was so kind. he was like a grief counselor. even he was teary eyed while he was putting him down. what a sweet sweet man.
we trimmed his furs to keep before he was cremated. no tree will be left behind in our neighborhood!
after all was said and done, we went out to dinner, looking like shit. we laughed and told funny scout stories.... tackle tennis, "the paw", the tail thump on the wall, the "team", etc.

Last October 27, 2018 the preschool to grade 3 pupils of St. Francis Cainta celebrated Scouting Month with half a days’ worth of games and activities. The first part of the event is the presentation of their patrol yell where they express the virtues of becoming a good scout through coordinated marches, cheers, and dance moves - a routine they practiced for many days. The next part of the event is the Scout Olympics which is a series of fun games to test and develop the important characteristics of scouting such as teamwork, patience, awareness, and a strong character.
Parents were encouraged to let their children go by themselves with only their patrol mates and scout masters to encourage independence - an important characteristic needed to become successful in life.
All in all it was a lively event with the little scouts enjoying themselves while having fun learning the fundamental skills and values of scouting
