Katz School's first annual commencement at the Yeshiva University Museum.

The main college campus is located on the R680 (the old Cork Road). It was established in 1970 and houses the majority of the institutes departments. The Engineering, Science, Business and Health Science Schools are located on this campus. The buildings on this campus are: The original ’69 building which contains the main administration offices along with the Schools of Science & Engineering, the ’77 building housing the Business School, the Luke Wadding library, Walton IT Building, O'Connell Bianconi Nursing Building, Tourism & Leisure Building, the “T-Block" now the FTG rooms which is also where the Centre for Technology Enhanced Learning is located. The Dome Bar,College Hall & Fitness Suite are adjacent to the main building and there is also on-site accommodation "College Fields" apartments.

Project Manta is a highly successful research project that is engaging the general public, scientists and industry in the conservation of manta rays. The research team were able to identify these two beauties as Perdie and Sixpack. They seemed to be besties and stayed together the whole time.

The Nursing Department of the School of Science, Health and Technology celebrated National Nurses Week which nurses embrace new technologies, resolve emerging issues, and accept ever-changing roles in their profession.

The Durham Police Department held graduation ceremonies for Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) class #41 on Monday, August 3, 2015, at 6 p.m. at the N.C. School of Science and Mathematics, 1219 Broad St. The program was held at the school’s Educational Technology Complex (ETC).

 

The 26 graduates of BLET Academy #41 have been in training from February 16, 2015 to July 10, 2015. Graduates have successfully passed 1,006 academy training hours in 36 state and department specifics topics. Twenty-five of the graduates are new Durham Police Department officers and one is a new officer for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Campus Police.

 

The class is comprised of 25 males; one female; three African- Americans, and five Hispanic officers. Fifteen of the new officers are North Carolinians (five from Durham), and two are from other countries (Bulgaria and Hungary).

 

The community was invited to attend the graduation ceremony which will serve as a soft kickoff event for the department’s citywide 2015 National Night Out Against Crime observance on Tuesday, August 4, 2015. A reception immediately followed the graduation hosted by the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #2.

Lina Rifai, associate professor of vertebrate biology, leads a KEY immersive experience near the Kelley House.

 

The goal of the event is to catch birds on campus and band them for tracking purposes, to monitor the health of the bird population.

 

A highlight of the day was banding and releasing the first documented hummingbird on campus.

The School of Sciences at Stevenson University hosted a research poster session on January 16, 2014 to display the work students did on their various topics. Students, faculty, staff and visitors were able to see the great work Stevenson's students do to further their education

The senior projects for Penn State Harrisburg engineering students are a long-standing tradition, where they are given opportunity to combine classroom learning with real-life applications, as well as collaborate with industry sponsors.
