Drove to Louisiana by way of Mobile, AL to see a couple pitcher plant bogs around that area. As you can see they were in prime flowering!

Harrison County. I am pretty sure there are no pure species of Sarracenia in Mississippi but this gets close.
from various locations. I'm not sure I believe in this varietal name, but it's published, so here you have it! Some of these clones will turn solid red in the fall, so they'll turn into atrorubras!

The site this plant is growing in is so overgrown, I managed not to see it at all during my first trip to this area.
