Donosti - San Sebastián

One of the things I love seeing in Europe are the carousels. They're on promenades, in parks and on street corners.

A key landmark of the fin-de-diècle, Belle Époque period that helped shape San Sebastián's urban character, this grandiose building was after its construction in 1897 a fancy casino and ballroom, flanked by the majestic Alberdi Elder Gardens and the iconic La Concha Beach, filled nightly with local high society. In 1947 it was converted into the Casa Consistorial (city hall). The surrounding streets are usually lively, and mark the gateway into the city's Old Town.
