This was my first ever full sized quilt. It's not at ALL my style, not even when I was making it, but I didn't know that I could break the quilting rules. (I had a strict quilt teacher)
There's heaps of mistakes all throughout, but I don't care, I'm still happy it's done. Machine pieced and quilted, finished 1997ish.
Vogart colonial sampler stamped on pure linen. Listed in S.S. Kresge Co. advertising pamphlet promoting its Vogart Needlecraft Novelties line for the spring and summer of 1935. States that Vogart NY is a N.R.A [National Recovery Act] member No. 31-29. Instructions suggest the use of six strand cotton floss for embroidering the crosstitch pattern.
I added a few beads to Week 1, but won't add more until I've finished the stitching. I also re-did the Portuguese stem stitch between the posts in Row 3.
Week 2 begins with the heavy teal line midway :
Row 1: Portuguese stem stitch in 2 strands of cotton floss
followed by second row of the same stitch in a wool tweed yarn.
Row 2: double fly stitch mirrored and linked in #5 pearl
Row 3: stem stitch, first in #12 pearl, then in #8 or 10
Row 4: triple chain "butterflies" in rayon floss alternating with knotted cross stitch "stars" in Watercolours
Row 5: 2 rows of running stitch in velvet cord, laced with a sparkly cotton yarn.
Row 6: triple fly stitch variation in Wildflowers, French knots in hemp yarn.
Row 7: tulip stitch, chains in silk floss, woven V's in Waterlilies. Fly stitches repeating below V's in #10 pearl.
Sampler Socks from the book Sock Yarn One Skein Wonders. Yarn is Same Difference from the Knitting Goddess, in colourway Cloudy Skies.
I thought this “Same Difference” yarn -- half a skein in white and blue, the other other half skein in blue and white -- would be a good match for these sampler socks, which each use a different combination of stitch patterns.
This is my first successful attempt at knitting socks!
The Autumn Sampler, pattern by The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery. This was one of my goals for the first quarter finish along, and I was so close to meeting my goal, but alas it will carry over to the next quarter. I only have the black and white floss color left to stitch!

I am compulsively stitching on to my paper sampler.
I have added mainly waxed paper to a handmade paper and tissue paper background, and then altered the surface by using wire, hand and machine embroidery.

This is the pillow case I made from my sampler, my very first stitches, which were featured on Feeling Stitchy... so proud!

Modeled after a pattern in the New Crewel. I am learning which stitches I like, those I find challenging and the ones that try my patience! The fabric is a vintage linen hankie.
I found an excellent tutorial by Rachel Griffith for this pinwheel block here:

The former ore sampler in Murray, Utah. Located "down rail' from the former Murray ASARCO smelter site, with connections to the then Union Pacific and Rio Grande mainlines. Undergoing some sort of demolition effort at the time of the photo, it would stall shortly afterwards leaving the building still standing as a hollowed out skeleton.
