Power Generation Module being built for the Maersk Oil Culzean project by Sembmarine SLP, Lowestoft, Suffolk.
This is a Power Generation Module, part of a contract for the offshore facilities in the Culzean gas field in the UK North Sea, 145 miles east of Aberdeen. The Sembmarine SLP yard in Lowestoft, UK is undertaking the construction of this power generation module, two bridges and a flare. It contains three turbines.
The Culzean gas field is expected to be capable of providing around 5% of the UK’s total gas consumption by 2020/21. Massive items like this are loaded onto huge barges and towed to the site when ready.
