So here's the deal... I was out at the Ironman in Kona to watch a couple of friends compete, and since I had rode in from Hilo I knew that this stretch of highway was a real killer, and I positioned myself about 14 miles from town on the last hill so that I could cheer this last battle. At least that's where most of these are from. Some are from just in town.

While waiting for my friends, cowering in the shade of a lonely highway sign, I figured that I'd practice shooting them by taking pictures of everyone who came along. Hence the pictures you see here.

So if you're in one of these, please comment and let me know you found it. I know they're not the best, but feel free to print them if you like. If you like yours and want it touched up, just drop me some Flickr mail with a link to the photo, and I'll correct and crop it for you. It's really not a problem. Since I'm going to get the color started on my tiger tattoo today, I thought it would be cool to take picture of Mr. Tattoo Dunny to commemorate the occasion.

Since there is no boardwalk, I was worried there would be nothing to do. I could not have been more wrong. There were so many shops, eateries, parks, flowers, and things to see. I became fascinated with the architecture and photographed every house in a 5 mile radius. On the beach, there was a roaming gang of giant seagulls that loot from people's bags. Also visited other parts of the Cape, which will be in separate albums as this one will already be insanely large.

Since I first started seeing butterflies flitting about a couple weeks ago, I've been hoping to get a picture. But they've been too quick for me. Until today. Today as I was coming out of the Post Point trail I saw a butterfly right in front of me - and she was just hanging there, all still and peaceful, soaking in the sun. What a gift!

The story of Beichuan Middle School remains one of the saddest episodes of that tragedy.

More than 1.300 students and teachers lost their lifes. The ones who survived were relocated to the courtyard of the Changhong training center(Chinese biggest television set maker) in Sichuan's Mianyang City, acting as their temporary school.

Since I had this photo printed in a 8x12 format, it was a challenge to frame (it's not a common frame size). However, when I saw this 13x15 floating frame, I knew it would be a great fit.

Since 1554, when the Reformation spread from Bern to Grandson, this church is the Evangelical Reformed parish church of the small, quaint town at the banks of the Lake Neuchâtel.

Most of the structure seen today was erected after 1178, when the lords of Grandson had founded a Benedictian priory, dependent on La Chaise-Dieu in the Auvergne, about 400kms southwest.

Since I've lost so much weight in Ukraine, today I had my pencil skirt taken in. Cost me around 2 US dollars and took only four hours.

This head has been here since April 25, 2017 (over a month), and I've finally finished her faceup yesterday.

Her eyes are a pair of 14mm (small iris) that I made recently. Pro: They fit in her eye-wells perfectly! Con: Not sure about the smaller iris for her... She looks like she's spacing out a bit - looking into the distance. Could be I need to play with the eye placement some more.

I am waiting for a cute grey/pink wig for her in size 7-8 (because Oasisdoll heads are teeny!). The wig she's wearing is from Lullaby Poem, I believe - bought on DoA MP. Seems to have a smallish cap, but does stretch. So, with a couple of extra rubber bands around her crown, it fits for now.

But oh... The dome of the top of her head is kinda high? As I focused my camera on her, her head kept looking like it had a beehive hairdo... *facepalm* Looks ok, now that I see the photos full size though. :/

And, I am also waiting for a pair of MehiArt (CandyWorld) eyes in 14mm, that I made a custom request for. We'll see how they fit. If they don't work for her, I'll try them on my Pipos Robin cutie instead.

Btw, she is borrowing Lucy's (Volks Rinon) Guu Doll 57cm girl body, and it seems to be a near perfect match for her resin. The body is very slightly darker, I'd say.

I like the idea of calling her "Nari". Otherwise, I have not story for her, and no character in mind. I basically got a little obsessed with the sculpt maybe 3-4 months ago, and ended up buying her, when really, I should have bought more clothing items for my existing dolls. She was much reduced, because a previous owner had sanded her face (lower lip and chin) slightly. She still has some very faint little scratch marks, unfortunately. However they are extremely faint, and one needs a magnifying glass to find them easily.

I have not idea what drew me to this sculpt though... I've seen it before, and did not have any kind of attraction to it. I think that she reminds me of someone, but for the life of me, I still cannot figure out whom - even after months of looking at the sculpt. Weird brain...

Greymouth, our lunch brake. Day one of our four day trip away over Arthur's Pass and back through the Lewis Pass. February 8, 2012. South Island, New Zealand.

Greymouth is the largest town in the West Coast region in the South Island of New Zealand.

The town is located at the mouth of the Grey River, on a narrow coastal plain close to the foot of the Southern Alps. In clear weather, Aoraki/Mount Cook can be clearly seen to the south from near the town.

Māori had lived in Greymouth for considerable time before European settlement, and called the area Mawhera (for 'wide spread river mouth', still an alternative name for the Grey River). The first European to visit the site of what is now Greymouth was Thomas Brunner in 1846. Brunner discovered coal in the Grey valley, and several places in the region (notably the town of Brunner and Lake Brunner) bear his name. Brunner himself named the Grey River after prominent 19th century New Zealand politician Sir George Grey. Together with gold, coal mining was a major impetus in the town's early European history.

On 19 November 2010, there was an explosion at the Pike River Mine, trapping 29 miners. Attempts to rescue the trapped miners were repeatedly delayed due to high levels of methane gas until a second explosion on the 24th November was believed to dash all hope of survival for the miners.

since I have a bigger boy (11) I needed to make something wearable for an older child that didn't look homemade at all.

I made the jeans from scratch with my own pattern, I over-dyed them a grey color so that the fraying wouldn't be stark white. I put a few bleach spots and some grey paint spots on the legs too to increase the grunge factor. when everything was finished, I took a dremmel tool with a sanding rum, and sanded back the edges a little, so they would look more like store bought jeans. As per my son's request, these jeans are fully lined in charcoal flannel so they are warmer for winter.

The vest is made from a wool plaid, and is also my own pattern.

The shirt is made from a rayon jersey, with an appliqued tie, also my own pattern.

Since this family photo was taken my D70 has since moved away and sadly, my 12-24 Tokina has been taken to another home. So the family is much smaller now. Just the Nikon D300s, Tokina 11-16 f2.8, Nikkor 55 f2.8 AIS macro, Nikkor 85 f2 AIS, Nikkor 70-210 f4, and Nikon SB600 flash remain. It's just a few of us now but we're very close.
