Stockholm, Sweden
The building is located in the center of Sweden's capital Stockholm in the borough of Norrmalm, on the eastern side of Gustav Adolfs torg across from the former Arvfurstens Palats, now Ministry for Foreign Affairs. It lies on the north side of the Norrström river and is connected to the Royal Palace through the Norrbro bridge.

All kings and queens are not born of royal bloodlines. Some become royal because of what they do once they realize who they are.

The pièce de résistance of bridges in the Berwick-Upon-Tweed area of the UK is the Royal Border Bridge which was built between 1847 and 1850 to carry train traffic. It was the last link in the east coast rail line from London to Edinburgh. It is a gently curved 28-arch bridge that is 659 meters in length and carries trains 37 meters above the River Tweed. The bridge is constructed in masonry with brickwork soffits that form the underside of the arches and is covered by stone cladding. 15 of of the arches are over land south of the river while 13 are over the river itself. It is considered by many to be one of the finest railway viaducts in the world.
Thanks to everyone for stopping by to view, fave, and comment!!
This Royal Tern is a winter bird with white forecrown.
{I had recorded this in my notes from 2010 as a Caspian Tern (Hydroprogne caspia), but with the caveat that the ID required confirmation. A reconsideration suggested to me that it was actually a Royal Tern, and I put this image to the Bird Identification Help Group here on Flickr which verified that.}
This sighting was during a kayak excursion at the Laguna de Potosí south of Zihuatanejo, Guerrero State, Mexico, on February 23rd, 2010.
Royal Sunangel Hummingbird
I have seen many hummingbird species in my life but this one really stands out as one of my favorites. In poor light the plumage looks dark but at the right angle and good light this stunning blue color shines. Estimated population is just 3,000-9,000 individuals.
Impressive hummingbird found in stunted cloud forest along the east slope of the Andes in southeastern Ecuador and northern Peru. Adult male is entirely dark blue and has a moderately long tail. Immature male has some green mixed into the blue plumage, and may have a buffy collar. Female is mostly green with a buffy or whitish collar, belly, and throat. Her tail is blue and shorter than male’s. This species is very localized, and prefers shorter forest and scrub near ridgelines.
Seen on a photo tour in Northern Peru led by Neotropic Photo Tours and our Peruvian guide Steve Sánchez Wildlife Photography.

The railway bridge over the River Tweed, in Berwick-upon-Tweed, is known as the Royal Border Bridge. It is a Grade 1 listed railway viaduct built between 1847 and 1850 and was actually opened by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert on 29th August 1850. They also gave permission for it to be called the Royal Border Bridge. The bridge was designed by Robert Stephenson who was the son of the railway pioneer George Stephenson.
In spite of its name the Royal Border Bridge does not divide the English and Scottish borders as the Scottish border is 3 miles (4.8km) further north.
The bridge consists of 28 arches and it spans the River Tweed between Berwick-upon-Tweed and Tweedmouth and is in regular use today as part of the East Coast Main Line.
Taken for the Macro Mondays theme of Royal. Some very old postage stamps - predecimalisation! Size 2" square
Perhaps these two have just seen it all once too often, but they were totally indifferent to the arrival of the Murray Princess on this cold, foggy yet sunny morning.
Taken at Mannum on the Murray river earlier this year.

Only 6 months old and SO beautiful. I was captivated by this little Royal python. Taken at a photography day with CaptiveLight in Bournemouth.
Spending the first morning of 2025 editing some new shots and playing with my Topaz editing software on a few of my archived shots.
Here is a red stag, a royal, 12-pointer hart of the Scottish Highlands. He by far represents THE most memorable deer encounter of my life as a year out from our trip to Scotland in 2022, I hoped and prayed just to see a royal or imperial stag. To stand on a small knoll and photograph this beauty for 5-7 minutes until it and his harem moved on was a blessing 100x bigger than that I had prayed for.
Photo taken on 22 October, 2022 near Strath Cluanie / Loch Cluanie, Scotland.
For Macro Monday's theme of "Royal". This magnetic ornament was bought by my son for my mother on a visit to the Royal Yacht Britannia, Edinburgh. My mother, like the queen, had four children, was married to a Philip, had a sister called Margaret and a grandson called William. She was born ten weeks before the queen in 1926 and died ten weeks after the queen, in 2022, at the wonderful age of 96. There, the similarities probably end. My mother had this on her radiator, sometimes upside down!

The royal spoonbill also known as the black-billed spoonbill, in Māori kōtuku ngutupapa, occurs in intertidal flats and shallows of fresh and saltwater wetlands in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and the Solomon Islands. It has also been recorded as a vagrant in New Caledonia.

Je voulait apposer ma signature juste sous la couronne pour faire davantage "royal"; mais je me suis dit que cela ferait trop présomptueux . LoL

Until recently, the entire "Kongens Nytorv" square was one big construction site because of the new metro line. Nice to have it back!
