Ik dacht eerst dat het een rietzanger was maar ging thuis toch twijfelen
En weet het nu helemaal niet meer :))
Wie weet wat voor soort het is
This Sedge warbler had been playing hide and seek for some time, noisily following me along my walk. Finally he sat still for a few seconds, allowing this shot through the reeds.

Sedge warbler in the reeds singing his spring song
The light in the back of the sedge warbler is in fact the sun reflected in the front window of a car.
This Sedge warbler is warbling its heart out hidden in a reed bank. Sedge warblers have become quite numerous in Flanders. In spring they announce their presence with a wild, noisy song full of imitations. They spend the winter months in Africa.

The Sedge Warbler lives in the same habitat as its cousin the Reed warbler, yet is more colourful. Ever busy, but less shy, its mating display is something to see. The males prefer to post on the top of the stems, singing loudly, if they don't indulge in spectacular flight displays with daredevil parachute jumps.

The singing stopped, the mating acrobatics are over for the Sedge warblers but, never shy, this handsome guy took time for a few shots in between foraging. Pretty soon they will be travelling south for the long trek towards Subsaharan Africa.

Sperwer - male Northern Sparrowhawk (Accipiter Nisus) taking off.
Too far off (60 m) for superdetails, but a very cool pose.
I simply wanted to make a photo of him for the proper ID.
He turned his head and immediately took off.
In the back a spooked sedge warbler (-;

It was quite a challenge to get a clear view on this little bird.
Most of the time it was hidden in the reed.....

Sedge Warbler
Quite a challenge to capture these small, busy and fast flying birds, most of the time they are hiding themselves in the reed.
Een hele uitdaging om deze kleine, drukke en snel vliegende vogels vast te leggen. Vaak houden ze zich verborgen in het riet.
