I could see no information for this attendee at Coventry Motofest 2023, but did note the modernised interior with head restraints incorporated into the front seats.

The BMW 2002 just never seems to get old to me. Every time I see one, I fall in love again. BMW's late mid century entry level cars strike such a great balance; a tasteful and elevated take on uncomplicated driver's cars with indisputable utility. A timeless formula, and one that deserved another take on my part. Similar to my White Bird 911, this is a complete rethink of my previous 2002 design. Scaled closer to City with a shorter overall height, the proportions are improved between the greenhouse and the body and the size of the wheel/tire combo is more period correct. I just wish I could take this one out for a spin myself!

Street Muscle Legends - Chapter 5
Interstellar.
The Ford Galaxie 500 hit the scene with a signature mix of premium design cues and big power. For 1966, a brand new 7 litre V8 was introduced that quickly established its ownership of the full size Muscle Car market. The effect of the wide and subtly faceted grille, stacked headlights and detailed dimensional tail light units was substantial on the automotive design landscape. This example, lovingly restored by the PYP garage crew, has been a routine favorite for cruising the city this holiday season.

Mr. Murphy stopped by Cars & Coffee this weekend to show off his Restomod BMW 2002. Despite what the dual-tipped hardware out back suggests, this Colorado Orange specimen is actually sporting a one-of-a-kind electric drivetrain dropped in by Electrohoon Specialties in SoCal.
Mr. Murphy also brought along his commuter bike in order to show off this electrified beauty in Bike Transport Mode. Cheers @bmurphbfree!
Speaking of modes, I moved into Premium Detailing Mode with the taillights which are a signature element of the 2002. After designing a taillight insert for the round trans red tile, I trimmed thin strips of chrome silver adhesive vinyl. I then wrapped one strip around each tail lens so that the seam of the strip joined at the bottom. When the round tile (with the chrome strip wrapped around it) is then fitted to the body of the car, the seam becomes trapped by the bumper and thus stays tightly wrapped around the taillight unit :)
This was built as a gift for good friend and epic work collaborator @bmurphbfree (IG).
I am considering offering instructions for this build. Please comment below if you’d be interested.
I hope you enjoy!

Emerging in the 2010s, the Porsche-based backdating and restomod trends were spotlighted by personalities such as Magnus Walker or Rob Dickinson and his company, Singer Vehicle Design. The process is simple, keep the unmistakable style of a classic 911, combined with a modern mechanical assembly and running gear. There are two schools of thought, one uses a more recent base, notably a Type 964, and equips it with the cosmetic features of an older model, such as a 2.7 RS. The other prefers to use an older base, to which a more recent mechanical assembly and running gear are fitted.
Yet this is not such a recent trend. Indeed, this Porsche 911 T was built in 1970, before being purchased in 1980 by Joe Salvador in California. It was in 1987 that the 911 T received a Porsche 930 3.3 Turbo engine. The car was then maintained by T&D Porsche Works in Campbell, California, who over the years made the car more reliable and improved it at the request of Mr Salvador. We have various invoices from this time, including the report of a road test, stating that the car had done 10 to 100 mph (16 to 160 km/h) in 10.96 seconds. Joe Salvador kept his 911 for many more years, always having it maintained by the same company, before entrusting it, in 2008, to Mobile Works West, a well-reputed Porsche specialist, to be revitalised. Joe Salvador gave up his 911 in 2011 to Matthew Landau, still in California. It then arrived in Europe in 2014. Started from a solid and rust-free car, the car costed no less than $200.000 to build.
The exterior looks today like a Porsche 911 2.7 Carrera RS, whose specific sheet steel wings and famous ducktail inspired it. Its paintwork is Petrol Blau, coupled with gold Carrera stripes. The passenger compartment is beige leather with RS-type perforated seats, lightweight door panels and side windows which still have their original handles, but are now electric. Lastly, the short shifter uses the 917 design. As for the engine, it is a Type 930 3.3 Turbo, fully overhauled and upgraded in 2012 with a made-to-measure intercooler, SC camshafts, Carrillo connecting rods, higher performance injectors, a new engine control unit, etc. The oil is cooled by a radiator installed in the front wing; turbo pressure is controlled by a rotary knob on the centre console and is shown on the dashboard on a 934/935 dial. Lastly, the 911 has a Tial wastegate and a blow-off valve. The 915 gearbox was also fully restored and the mechanical assembly is said to produce 375 hp. The running gear is fitted with 930 brakes, the front suspension comes from a Turbo 3.3, the rear trailing arms are made of aluminium, all on four Fuchs by Harvey Weidman wheel rims with Toyo R888 tyres. All this for 1,039 kg, which guarantees a particularly high-performance car!

Every now and then we have an offworld customer looking to run a new light-speed engine tune or upgrade from a core propulsion system. Sir Vader of Darth brought us a salvage-title TIE looking for the works, which resulted in this exciting restomod project.
The build spec includes a Stage 2 Twin Ion Engine tune for post-empire Gen 1 Tie Fighters, light weight wing supports, all new electronics and new stealth panel paint including exo-atmospheric nano protection and a Gen 2 fully pressurized cabin update.
I hope you enjoy, and May the Force be With You!

The Graham Company entered into a contract with Hupmobile in 1940 to build a car called the Skylark. Hupmobile soon went out of business which left Graham with a production line set up. The company renamed the car the Graham Hollywood and continued production.
From the cowl back, the car is based on the 1936-37 Cord. Hupmoible had purchased the body dies from the Auburn automobile Company which had gone out of business. Many changes from the Cord were implemented, including a redesigned front end and the conversion from front-wheel drive to rear-wheel drive.
There were 1,859 examples of the Hollywood built with the majority being fitted with a supercharger. Some of the Hollywood cars were raced, and with a power-to-weight ratio that was unmatched, many drivers found success including Bill France, the father of NASCAR.
The supercharged six-cylinder engine produced 124 horsepower and rested on a 115-inch platform. the car weighs just 2,365 pounds and sold for $1,250 when new.
My version is what is considered a "resto-mod" which is short for restored-modified. It has a V-8 engine, a lowered ride height, shaved bumpers and low-profile tires. Built for the 78th LUGNuts challenge "Places everyone!"
My brother Doug and I made a visit on September 19, 2020 to the Early Ford V8 Museum in Auburn, Indiana. This sporty convertible sedan has recently been restomoded, with the addition of an automatic transmission, dual exhaust and this rich leather interior, among other modifications. Fun Factor.
I'm back again with another take on the GOAT Kart, the classic Mini Cooper S. Famously way more fun than any spec sheet would suggest, the Cooper S is the very embodiment of the outrageous fun to be had by driving a slow car fast.
This design sits one plate lower than the 2019 TLG design, and thanks to a panel-based floor pan trap inspired by the 4w community, a minifigure can sit a full two plates lower than the TLG model, as low as possible while still being able to secure the roof overhead.
Despite having some light stance and an offset wheel-tire setup, this design rolls smoothly and displays great. 2x6 tiles are used for the roof creating a rear spoiler overhang, and the roof can also be built with no overhang if that look is preferred.
I hope you enjoy!
