Day 7, & I'm guessing this car doesn't need much introduction :) but for those that don't know this hero, its the amazing Caterham R500! I won't fill this description with facts & figures on the car (as much as I want to, that's what google is for hehe).

So I was given this remote controlled car version of the R500 last Christmas (from my mummy :) lol) & it sits up on one of my shelves looking all friendly like most Caterhams do, so I thought I'd try & give it an evil twist, hopefully this has come across in the picture... grrr menacing! hehe

Used a strobe & a huge piece of black card to achieve this, as well as of course the Canon 60mm Macro lens hehe :D

The Caterhams themselves have played quite a large part in my life in the past few years, firstly my family owns one of the cars, my father to be exact & he rents it out as part of his business, I've had a cheeky drive or two in it since its been in his ownership of course... the Nurburgring could have been involved at one point also ;) but anyway I'm side tracking...

Secondly, & on a much more important level to me, Caterham the company itself has given me some fantastic opportunities in the past, allowing me to do photography work for them & help get my name out there, so a huge thank you goes out to the entire team there, you will not meet a crazier group that make up what is basically a car dealership hehe, nutters :D

So there you have it, this little car represents a lot to me :)

I got a bit lazy with my daily for day 64. I left my cam in the car which was a couple blocks away and I didn't want to go get it. So I'm posting this instead for my day 64. Remember these? Little desktop radio controlled cars. I still have mine. I got two others of which I use to have races with co-workers or with the boys. It is a bit dirty. I got it away from the kitten for about two minutes before he started going after it again and so this took me several tries. Eventually I got the shot even though the kitten got everything dirtied up. LOL!

I used the Nikon J1 with the 30-110mm lens and used a nearby lamp as my light source. Shot on a tripod and manually focused.

You can't really see it - but there is this little remotely controlled car on the field for the Javelin - once thrown, the staff take the javelin from the ground, put it in the car, which is then remotely driven back to the starting point. heh, so cool.

Happy Thanksgiving!

(However you choose to enjoy it!)

Rewarron's first full test day

14 years ago I bought this r/c kit car -- the thing comes to you in pieces, and you have to put it all together. I started in the afternoon and went into the wee hours of the morning. Broken suspension pieces, lost screws -- it got to be frustrating at times.

When it was finished, a sense of accomplishment took over as these things are more complex than you think. The plastic outer shell is a C5 Corvette painted silver.

This is my 14-year old r/c car.

My brother showed me his Christmas present :)

Taken with a Holga FN and Kodak 400NC-3 film

This was the first Holga roll that I loaded myself, so there were some light leaks in most of the frames, especially near the end of the roll, as seen here.

Oh, well. I guess you learn from things like that!

On 5/13/06 the boy got a brand new remote controlled car. His very first Caddy! Daddy was so proud.

The car became wider with 9cm (3,5") so we had to alter that change to the serial bodywork. We also updated the overall design.

Overall width: 1,05m (41,3")
