The elite.

The Royal Air Force display team was formed in 1964 following an amalgulation of earlier units. The team consist of nine aircraft, and their home base is RAF Scampton near Lincoln.

Since 1979 the team have used BAE Hawk T1 aircraft, modified with uprated engines and a modification to enable the use of coloured smoke. Created with Diesel and coloured dye, ejected into the jet exhausts
